Anw, damn scare 1-2 weeks ltr they ask me go down choose flat as i will be overseas! Usually is 1 week ltr start to select flat right?

I'm strictly aiming for hougang. Both my parents and fiances parents are here. Plus they're all not very young, so we want to be nearby to watch out for them.

The experience suckkk. Even though I'm 1st timer with mcps scheme, we still failed 3 times. No q number at all! I read at few forums, it's normal to fail few times. So don't put on hopes.

Btw, just sharig. My brother got q number previously. Then on the mrng of his appointment, hdb msg to say that it's all filled up alr. So even if got q number, cannot be too happy yet. Can only be happy after book the unit. Lol

Other than the 300% queue number given to people, there are also something call ethnic quota, which is to balance the racial allocation in the queue number.

even 1 malay got last queue number 300%, as long as this guy still within ethnic quota, regardless his queue number he will still get a flat.

I totally agree with you. The entire system is flawed. There are so many loopholes and restrictions around the system.

Needless to say, the needful ones will not get a unit. Come to think of it, SOBF doesn't even exist if the system is done properly.

Let's talk about probability and chances first. Looking at the government pumping up the population numbers to 6mil and soon 10mil, it will be virtually impossible to get a unit. Perhaps can get a unit when 1 leg is confirmed in the hole la.

That's why I told my wife, we will get the best unit we want. Then make it super nice. But that's only half the journey. Within the first 10 years, we work hard, she will do her best at work, I will sell more insurance, we pay off the house, and pay back the interest incurred with CPF for the house, AND!!! save for the 2nd renovation after staying in the house for 15 years. If we can squeeze a 3rd renovation cost in, we would.

The intention of buying this house is not for investment but to grow with it.

We are also not looking at condos because of the bad experience we had knowing about the tenants inside.
