PSA: To those who intend to buy X90H/X9000H

To those who intend to purchase the 'Ready for PlayStation 5' TV (X90H/X9000H), do not buy it for now. It is being advertised with features such as 4K120, eARC, VRR, ALLM, but it has received numerous bugs/complaints.

Long story short;
The text on the TV is blurry when receiving a 4K 120Hz signal
VRR and ALLM have yet to be implemented (Tentatively, will be available in Spring 2021?!:s11:)

As much as I want to upgrade to a 4K TV with HDMI 2.1 features because I'm getting my PS5 physical edition this Thursday (19/11), it seems I'm going to wait for next year's model. :( On a side note, you could opt for the LG CX OLED TV, but take caution of the potential burn-in issues.

Does anyone know where can i still purchase the 3D audio headphone in local retail store?

Think you can check out on launch day.. at least that's what the Sony guy told me when I walked in to enquire weeks ago. I didn't wanna wait and ended up with the Steelseries Arctis 7P for PS5 instead..

Anyone successfully order from Sony Store Online (store.sony.com.sg) and heard anything about shipping?

My buddy got one from here and apparently all stock were for day 1 (Nov 19th), but hasn't heard any updates on when they are shipping yet and they aren't giving much info. Just checking to see if anyone else has heard?

Hdmi 2.1 is necessary if you want to be able to get 4K/120 Hz.

But you don't really need a TV with Hdmi 2.1 as most games wont be able to run at that setting. In fact, I doubt developers are making that a priority. 4k/60fps RT seems to be the goal and even then, seems abit hard to hit unless it's well optimized.

Very few tvs have Hdmi 2.1 and most of them are at the higher end of the scale. Unless you have the budget for it, I don't think splashing the cash on a tv for this feature is necessary.

I foresee that many games will run at 4k with no RT and unlocked frame rate e.g DMC5 SE, so HDMI 2.1 should still be a good feature to have. Of course this is assuming VRR is ever implemented as promised.

Just wanted to share some updates with fellow Hachi.tech buyers: I contacted them via the live chat function, and apparently, they will be able to tell you if you're amongst the first batch of buyers who will be getting your PS5s on 19th Nov. Do give it a shot if you're really anxious!

Also checked with their delivery department, they explained that the tracking numbers will only be assigned on 19 Nov itself, so as of now they don't have details to share on the delivery.

For PS5 orders, fulfilment date will be from Nov 19, 2020, onwards. You will receive a notification email with the tracking number for the delivery schedule. As of today, there is no tracking number yet.

I agree that Hdmi 2.1 is a good feature to have but the current Tv models available aren't fully ready for it yet.

For me, it would be better to wait and see what updates there are in future before investing in something that isn't fully optimized now

Hi. Sorry for the late reply. The answer is yes, this is a good TV to consider for the PS5.
However currently, with the latest firmware, the Sony X900H is using a processor that seems, as of now, is incapable of processing 4K at 120Hz. So what is does it take the 4K 120Hz signal via HDMI 2.1 and downsamples it to 1080p 120Hz during the processing part and outputs a blurry 1080p 120Hz mess.

Something to take note of if you are planning to get this TV for your PS5 or XSX or PC with next gen HDMI 2.1 cards.

The result of the downsampling of the visuals can be seen here.

But... Sony has now released a statement that they call this issue a firmware bug so it could be fixed in the future. So best advice is, set your output to 4K 60Hz with this TV. Until a new update that addresses this issue is out.
Considering, there aren't much games running above 60fps on the PS5 now, it is a win-win situation. So sure. You can get this TV and hopefully get the fix in the future and enjoy 4K 120Hz.

You can see Sony's address of this issue here.
