As long as tsmc suffers from backlog orders, as well as hoarding by tech firms, whole tech industry suffer. Each ps5 has AMD CPU and GPU, AMD can’t even make enough for pc market and how to prioritise Sony lol.

I appreciate that they added in the Japanese lip sync which I thought it was a flaw back then. Waiting for more details on length of Iki island gameplay. And there's a new mode...hmm...
Unfortunately there's no free upgrade for the base game. I would've preferred a similar upgrade path as FFVII (Free upgrade for base game, separate paid dlc for new story expansion)

They posted another new blog post, with upgrade price for South East Asia region.

GOT PS4 to GOT Director's Cut PS5 - SGD $40.90

GOT Director's Cut PS4 to GOT Director's Cut PS5 - SGD $18

GOT PS4 to GOT Director's Cut PS4 - SGD $26.90

how many years?

u say?
At least till 2021 then possibly will ease up a bit.

It’s not like there’s non being made, there is still tons of chips being made every single day just that have to share the capacity split with other companies and product lines lo. And right now for sure Apple is starting their SOC for this year iPhone already, so don’t expect high stocks until at least end of the year.

Lastly it’s not just SoC, even the SSD is a newer process with lower production volume.

While Sony lose money on every set sold, they also want to sell fast to capture market share.

XBOX Series X is even harder to come by than PS5 at least in SEA.

Sony managed to ship 4.5 million PlayStation 5 consoles as of December 31, 2020, which is the exact same number of PlayStation 4 consoles in its first quarter in 2013.

You think so easy to up orders? TSMC fully booked for next few years, build new fab also need time.
It’s way harder to buy a PS5 than PS4, which clearly shows demand is much higher than previous generation despite a lack of launch titles compared to PS4.

Yup that’s right! Thanks for pointing out the global shortages and TSMC fully booked for next few years! TSMC in taiwan manufactures chips for AMD (AMD does not have their own fab foundry) the AMD chips are used in PS5 as well as AMD own Ryzen 9 series of CPUs and their GPUs for the PC market.

PC Master Race folks has the capacity to pay thousands for the parts alone, hence Sony PlayStation at few hundreds cannot compare and no priority.

Don’t forget Taiwan got a few issues:

1. drought issue, whole country water shortage issue and a lot of water are required to manufacture chips, they are using reserve water trucks now.

2. COVID issue, although tsmc says got no impact on manufacturing, but that’s rubbish la, quite a few semi conductor producers got plant workers Kena covid and thousands on quarantine.

3. Whatever chips tsmc makes, Apple has a strong partnership with them and will eat up 50% of the manufacturing output. The rest are divided by other industries: automobiles, electronics (appliances etc) and advanced chips specially for GPU and CPU. TSMC manufactures 90% of the world’s most advanced chips, so can’t change supplier easily. Don’t forget, TSMC >> AMD >> Pc CPU and GPU Market, Xbox one and PS5 (don’t forget AMD is still an American company after all), Sony is not even on the priority list and to even secure the parts now, Sony has to pay more money for the components.

Yup that's a slight bummer. With the above price tags, I don't think the Iki Island DLC would be short which is a good thing - "tons of new content". I'm hoping it is long enough to justify the prices. It is my first open world game, I honestly had a little fatigue from the repetitive side quests (Oh a Camp, Stealth, Fight, rinse & repeat). Mystic Tales were fun to go after because of the Boss Fights & Rewards and each has their own side story. Playing in Lethal Mode makes those Bosses even tougher and fun to beat. So lesser repetition in Iki Island please.

Indeed, agreed! The issue is for so many years how can the world allow TSMC to monopolize produce 90% of the world’s most advanced chips? Isn’t there diversity and alternatives?

Well I am sure their ongoing partnership and commercial agreements, Sony will still receive a very small allocation of production by TSMC as goodwill. Spread that very small quantities globally and a small city like sg may get a small number of PS5 every quarter.
