Yes, a student who does not qualify for secondary school after the PSLE can still proceed through other options, including retaking the PSLE, enrolling in alternative schools like NorthLight School or Assumption Pathway School for vocational training, or applying directly to schools like Crest Secondary School or Spectra Secondary School.

After the PSLE, students are posted to secondary schools based on academic merit (their PSLE score) and school choice order, with tie-breakers like citizenship used if scores are the same. Students first choose their secondary schools and are then allocated to a posting group (1, 2, or 3) based on their PSLE score, which determines their initial subject level options in secondary school.
