Unable to sign up. Stuck at loading screen, tried on 3 different browser also cannot. Have tried to clear browsing data also cannot.
Anyone else face the same issue?

Please do not use this thread, but rather go to the Starhub 5Gbps thread for question like this.
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/starhub-ultraspeed-5gbps-plan-launched.7024290/

Existing users may have some difficulty to subscribe to the 5Gbps offer as it is meant for new users. But Starhub allows existing users to sign up as new user and cancel the existing plan on the day of the installation. You can see the following thread is very popular now.

Thanks xiaofan, it’s quite clear for me now.

The main difference is whether I want a ONR or ONT (which gives me flexibility to choose my own router and mesh).

Assuming I go with ONT and buy the EB10v + HB710 at $$592, it’ll be somewhat like $50.6/mth (ISP price + equipment price).

My question will then be - is there a real world difference to this setup over the ONR which provides the Nokia beacon? Will average consumers feel a difference in speed over mobile phones and computer usage?

For your comparison.
1) 5 room flat, floor area 125m2. My dad house.
Main fibre point and main router (Nokia beacon 1 is in 1 of the bedroom). Within the room, the wireless speed tested via Samsung s23 ultra is around 300-400mbps. We setup another 2 Nokia beacon 1 (wireless backhaul) to cover the whole flat. The wireless speed for the rest of house is around 150-200mbps.
Dad house is SH 1gbps plan.

My house using 2 hb710 from starhub. Using the starhub 5gbps plan. (See link below)

h t t p s:/ / f o r u ms.h ardwarezone.com.sg/threads/starhub-ultraspeed-5gbps-plan-launched.7024290/post-154611398

I borrow somebody house map cos my house is same design and size as his (5room 125 m2). Using 2 tplink hb710. 1 as router and the other one wireless backhual. I have included the speed of various location measure via my s23 ultra.

For your reference of nokia beacon 1 versus hb710 wireless speed.

So can I confirm only MR and VQ offer static IP now? Currently using M1 which offers static IP but heard that they are no longer offering it to new users? This is for my new house so require a new line as I want to keep my existing M1 line.

Just stay with the same plan, no need to recontract, the price should keep the same at S$30.45 per month for M1 500Mbps plan.

I actually decided to keep my Starhub 500Mbps plan (no contract since Sept 2020, at S$30.45 per month) and not to go for the Starhub 5Gbps special offer at S$29.55 per month, since it is good enough for the use case (not my main Internet line).
Hi, I am thinking what is the best for me. Please share your view, I appreciate that!

I am using M1 500Mbps, no more contract already, paying $30.45 every month for many months since contract ended some time ago.

I didn't plan to upgrade to higher speed plan until I received "3Gbps Enhanced (WiFi 6) Plan at $29.90/mth (U.P. $84.90/mth)" offer from Singtel...

I am wondering, should I just change from M1 to Singtel to pay the same (actually slighly lower) price for much higher 3Gbps? Seems like a no-brainer at the beginning until I started reading this thread and your view, especially on Singtel ONR.

I am currently using M1 Huawei ONT (white color) for many years (should be more than 5 years) and Asus RT-AX82U. Does it make sense for me to go over to Singtel with their ONR? I am layman in networking technology so I appreciate professional advice. Thanks!

My opinion:
No point to go with Singtel 3Gbps plan because of the use of ONR.. If you really want to change, go with the Starhub 5Gbps plan at S$29.55 per month ONT option (full flexibility) or ONR option.

BTW, you may not get Singtel 3Gbps special offer as there is a report saying that it is for existing Singtel mobile customer without Singtel Fibre internet but want to switch to Singtel Fibre internet.

Starhub ONR option is a bit better than Singtel ONR option.

Starub ONR option --> Starhub Nokia XGS-PON ONR with AX6000 WiFi (not too bad) + lousy Nokia Beacon 2 AX1800 mesh node.
Singtel 3Gbps pan --> Singtel ONR (no wireless function) + lousy Singtel AX5400 router

I search around at https://www.starhub.com/personal/broadband/5gbps.html
I don't see Starhub 5Gbps at S$29.55. Is it still available?
It is listing $45 or $48 (WiFi 7 TP-Link router).

Is Singtel ONR = SIngtel Router? https://www.singtel.com/business/su...ters/singnet-business-routers#askywifi6router

1) Please read the first page of this thread to know more about the Starhub 5Gbps special offer at S$29.55 per month.

If you have futher questions about the special offer, please do not ask in this thread, but go to the following thread. Further questions in this thread will be ignored.
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/starhub-ultraspeed-5gbps-plan-launched.7024290/

2) No. Singtel XGS-PON ONR is either ZTE F8648P ONR or Nokia XS-240X-A ONR (no wireless function).
https://www.singtel.com/personal/support/broadband/routers-ont
The provided AX5400 router is only capable of 1Gbps. All of them are lousy.

Hmmm, did I miss something here? Router only capable of 1Gbps for a 3Gbps plan? 🤔

Yes, that is what SingTel is doing, providing 1Gbps capable wireless router for cheaper 3Gbps/5Gbps plans.

Take note the XGS-PON ONR has one 10G LAN port to connect to a 10G capable wired device or 10G capable AP/mesh.

SingTel also bundles 10G capable HB810 WiFi 7 router for more expensive 5Gbps/10Gbps plans.

BTW, same for SH/MR as they provide cheap bundle of 1Gbps capable wireless router with 3Gbps/5Gbps plans.

SH: TP-Link EX510 (lousy router) at S$4 per month (S$96 in total) for 5Gbps plan specical offer at S$29.55 ONT option (no router provided by default). Totally not worth it. Much better to get 10G capable WiFi 7 HB710 router at S$8 per month or S$192 cash and carry.

MR: 3Gbps plan at S$38.99 per month with TP-Link EX510, one dollar extra than the no-frills plan at S$37.99 per month.

But please note you’d only ever save 90 cents per month, only for 24 months (so about $20 total), and you wouldn’t even save that if you add a fixed home telephone line (which M1 already includes in their $30.45/month). You’ll also be locked into a new contract with an early termination fee. And there’s always a little risk when switching carriers. What you have now works, presumably.

Hi, my 1Gbps no frills plan has recently expired. I'm not sure whether to recontract or find a new ISP. My PC motherboard has a 2.5Gb ethernet port so I don't think I'd really benefit from 10GbE plans over 3GbE. That being said, I am looking to upgrade my router (it's a WiFi 5 router: ASUS RT-AC88U)... any advice? On a separate note, I was also looking at the MR 3GbE + Nintendo Switch plan but not sure if it's worth...

1) If you are fine with MyRepublic 1Gbps no-frills plan, you can probably continue with MyRepublic 3Gbps plan.
https://myrepublic.net/sg/3gbps/

Cheapest one with 2,5G capable router is the MyRepublic Archer BE230 router (dual 2.5G ports, three 1G ports, dual band WiFI 7 BE3600) bundle at S$38.99 per month with S$50 top-up. You can also buy extra Archer BE230 at about S$100 BNIB from Carousell if you need another mesh node (mainly dumped by M1 users).

2) If you want to switch to other ISPs, there are other options, please refer the first page to see if you prefer to switch to other options like Starhub's 5Gbps special offer at S$29.55 per month with ONT option, then top up S$192 (S$8 x 24 month) for TP-Link HB710 (dual 10G ports, triband WiFi 7 BE18000) or S$360 (S$15 x 24) for TP-Link EB810v (dual 10G ports, three 2.5G ports, triband WiFi 7 BE22000).

If you are keen with Starhub 5Gbps special offer, please go to the following thread. DO not ask in this thread.

Thanks for the reply. I checked all the different options out and decided to recontract with MR under the 3Gbps BE230 bundle, and will buy another BE230 from Carousell to mesh. Do I need any other devices? And would you be able to advise on whether I need to pay any other hidden costs?

Edit: Nvm, this router is not suitable. I need a 2.5Gb WAN and 2x 2.5Gb LAN ports :/

In that case, you may want to look at Asus TUF-BE6500 China version with quad 2.5G ports (dual band BE6500, no 6GHz band), at about RMB799 plus GST and shipment if you buy from Taoboa (no local warranty). This is much cheaper than local version at S$329 listed in Asus Singapore.
https://www.asus.com.cn/store/gallery-476/a1534.html [China version at RMB 799 listed].
https://www.asus.com/sg/networking-...us-gaming-routers/tuf-gaming-be6500/techspec/ [local version at S$329 listed]

Or you can go with Starhub 5Gbps offer at S$29.55 and get EB810v at S$360 (10G WAN, 10G LAN, three 2.5G LAN, triband BE22000, with 6GHz band).

I decided to go with this. It feels like such a steal! I've signed up and confirmed the order(contract) with Starhub as of a few minutes ago. I'll just need to email MyRepublic support that I want to terminate their services right? Nothing else?

Edit: Also, I see that the EB810v is EasyMesh-compatible. Does this mean that I can use any other EasyMesh-compatible router as a range extended in a Mesh system? Any recommendations?

Hello. looking for advice.

My m1 500mbps plan contract over. Make sense to switch over to 5gbps starhub hidden plan to ONT?

Technically it will work but Starhub does not support that. So you are on your own.

Starhub recommends another EB810v or HB710 to mesh with each other.

https://www.starhub.com/personal/support/article.html?id=LfNB5odcBt0mTG6Pr7GSB7
How does the TP-Link HB710 mesh work?
The TP-Link HB710 uses Easymesh* technology and is compatible with another TP-Link HB710. For the best performance and compatibility, we recommend meshing with another HB710 or EB810v.

* Mesh nodes that are available from other brands would not be compatible with the TP-Link HB710. We strongly recommend using another TP-Link HB710 or EB810v for best performance.

I need more coverage on my home network with the TP-Link HB710, what can I do?
You can extend the coverage by purchasing another TP-Link HB710 or EB810v from StarHub. Additional units can be purchased at $8 per month for HB710, $15 per month for EB810v (for 24 months) during initial sign-up or cash & carry from our retail store and Hub Troopers at $192 or $360 respectively.
