same here lol.
if need to go nearby Malaysia, have the 6GB now 50GB data roaming (knn...mine is the earlier 6GB one lol). 6GB is far more than enough la tbh lol. if heading further away, i.e., China, Taiwan, Thailand, etc. just get a eSIM from Shopee ok le lol. (cheap & good.)

I recontract one week before they upped their Malaysia roaming bundle from 6GB to 50GB, I understand your frustration :frown:

haha...but it's ok la to be fair the 6GB...wouldn't really use that much for a short trip or two or even three to nearby Malaysia in a month lol.

6GB quite ok already unless you're doing live streaming or watching videos non-stop hehe. i head over time to time for day trips to City Square, so it's more than enough the 6GB hehe.
but i would of course love to get the 50GB la knn...... that 1 solid deal nnb~! lol. :ROFLMAO:

You have to cart out at the last page summary. Before submission, you will see the cash rebates there.

I'll trade roaming data with contract.

Meanwhile Singtel users: i don't want both, I don't want hassle of changing, I want stability, I got the money.

Actually last one "I got the money" is not correct.

S$15.28 per month pricing is not that expensive compare to other 5G enabled plans.

Repost:

For Singtel SIM Only plan users, it is also good to look at other offerings out there to see whether it is good to stick to Singtel SIM Only plan or can switch out to try other offerings out there.

From the other thread: it is good to compare the offerings and select whatever plan is suitable for the use case.

Lowest Cost 5G enabled SIM Only Plan Comparisons -- updated on 18-Oct-2025

Different offerings may offer more data but most of users cannot use up the data anyway. Roaming benefits may be more useful for some use cases.

The following list does not consider special Senior Plan offers.

1) Singtel SIM Only Plus recontract offer --> S$15.28 per month, not for new sign-up.
https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/mobile/eform/simonlyplusform

New user -- lowest is the Singtel 5G+ Enhanced Lite SIM Only plan at $24.50/mth.
https://www.singtel.com/personal/mobile/plans/sim-only/online-exclusive

2) MyRepublic 5G --> minimum at S$9.99 per month
https://myrepublic.net/sg/5g/

3) M1 Maxx 5G --> minimum at S$10 per month (red flags below)
https://maxx.sg/#buy-now

Maxx cannot do voice call overseas. And cannot receive SMS outside of those included roaming countries. That's a red flag

4) SIMBA 5G --> minimum S$10 per month (but kind of 4G speed in reality)
https://www.simba.sg/personal

5) Circles.Life 5G --> minimum S$12 per month
https://www.circles.life/sg/5g/

From A7997A for CL 5G offer.
S$9.90 for 1year - 5G 0.98TB w 8GB roaming PRT1TB990OO3YK/PRT1TB9904T84Q

6) Eight 5G --> minimum at S$14.8 per month
https://www.eight.com.sg/

7) M1 Bespoke SIM Only --> minimum at S$14.95 per month
https://www.m1.com.sg/personal/sim-plan

8) Gomo 5G+ plans --> minumum at S$18.33 per month (not counting the 1st month offer)
https://gomo.sg/

9) Giga 5G --> minumum at S$18.33 per month for normal 5G plan.

Giga also has a 4G plan with free 5G upgrade at S$15.28 per month (from sango65)
https://www.giga.com.sg/mobile

Giga S$10 per month 4G plan users may get free 5G upgrade.

it appears GIGA has 5G plan at $15.28 - 300GB

$10 plan got free 5G upgrade already

10) Starthub Star SIM Only Plan --> minimum at S$22 per month

11) ViviFi 5G (now NSA, soon to be upgraded to 5G+) --> minimum at S$15 per month

Good questions to ask oneself and decide which plan to go.

All in all, each person has different use cases and nothing wrong to select whichever plan you like.

That might be the wrong questions to ask.
How about what is important to you ?

Ok, maybe to guide you along :
1) Do you need/want 5G ?
2) How important is roaming for you ?
2a) Which countries are you likely to need roaming for ?
2b) How much roaming data do you need
2c) Do you need to voice service during roaming ? For incoming calls ? Call SG ? Call local numbers ?
2d) Do you need to send SMS when roaming ?
3) How much local data/call/sms do you need ?
4) Do you need wifi calling/VoWifi ?
5) Do you need esim ?
6) Are you price sensitive ?

A good answer to question 2 alone might eliminate a large number of potential options.

Another important point to take into consideration is the coverage & performance for areas that you frequent, bearing in mind the use case for each line. Of particular concern will be places like basement, carparks, deep inside big malls, outlying areas like the mandai catchment, islands etc. This is where the placement of base station/repeater & the performance of the low bands like 700 & 900 MHz comes into play.
It is very specific to each person and how one uses the line.

Other resources which I wish I had known about before I did my first ever porting. Hope these may be of help to those considering mobile providers.

If one is an existing Singtel user that is a fair statement.

For someone not currently on Singtel, it would be necessary to get onto a regular plan, which is $40 minimum,
and converting to the $15.28 plan is not guaranteed, which adds stress.
$40 split into a year is $3.33, for a 12 month period that is $18.61 per month, which push it higher than the MVNOs.

So for existing Singtel users or those who intends to use it for the long haul, that might make sense.
But for anyone new and is not certain if will be staying for long, that might not be that good a deal.

The initial change is always painful/troublesome as with most things.
But the benefits if one were to utilise the services that MNO like ST has, is what needs to be considered too.

No right or wrong, got money/no money, just individual preferences and needs.

Responding to xiaofan 2 posts.

Reasons of my choice of SingTel SIM Only over SingTel MVNO:

- if MVNOs have almost the same prices as Singtel proper, there's no reason why MVNO should exist.
- Singtel has better Smartphone App - one login to see info for all lines - I'm not sure about other MVNO, Gomo can't do this; worst you can only login the Gomo App on that particular phone connected to the number, which is ridiculous, so ma-fan
- 5G SA
- for GOMO, if you actually need customer service once in a blue moon, you're toasted, the support SLA's totally broken
- I hardly switch telco network, so one year contract is ok for me
Giga app is lightyears ahead of Singtel. Was on Giga for 5 years before Singtel and Giga app also shows u all the lines under single account and is very self-sustainable - gist of their business model. All their option toggles work flawlessly. Their live agent works well for me too.

Singtel app on other hand felt like fake automation where every changes I made to my settings or addon purchase requires someone backend to double check and process manually. And the app seems to emphasise a lot more on their third party services sales rather than facilitating their core services. Live chat system is also dreadful. Live chat messages dont hold welland keep getting missing. And their media upload function has been broken for quite long and they don't bother fixing.

I switched from Giga to Singtel in hopes of better priority network during peak crowd. Definitely noticeable improvement but not awesome enough.

I have onboarded the singtel wagon. 20 over years with M1 and decided to jump due to the poor coverage in certain areas especially mrt tunnel and indoor.
My daily commute distance is quite long so this coverage is important for me. I haven't tried StarHub though, but the sg60 trial definitely triggered this move.

I too commute 45 to 60 minutes per way using train every day. If you use the smartphone throughout the journey, the subscription, using xiaofan links, are worth it if you've middle-class income.

I used M1 network many years before - it's perfectly usable, but since a more pleasant network is available at only a slightly higher price of perhaps a budget hawker meal, I rather use Singtel.
