Just to share:-

Upgraded the following:-

MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010)
- with 2 X 4 GB Strontium (1066) for Mac Ram

iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2009)
- with 4 X 4 GB Strontium (1066) for Mac Ram
- enabled 64 bit kernel and extensions

Been running for the past 5 days. All works great and of course experienced a performance increase.

hi guys, need some help here...

currently having a mid 2009 mbp

2.26ghz, 4gb ram, 120gb hd...

intending to upgrade to a 500gb black scorpion...

but on my harddisk contains both osx and win7 (bootcamp)

so is there anyway to xfer everything over to the new disk

and any shops whom provide such services?

and for the spare 120gb hd after we change, we can buy a HD cover, format it to become a portable external harddisk rite?

You might want to try either superduper or winclone. Heard winclone works well with boot camp. Copy sector by sector to the new harddisk and then you can replace it on a one to one basis. Both softwares are free but winclone is highly recommended but no longer supported. You still can find the old version floating around the net.

For me I am using superduper and carbon copy cloner. However, heard that they have problem cloning the bootcamp partition. I have a mac mini running win 7 bootcamp. Checked around and found that to backup the bootcamp partition is near impossible. Tried various software but no luck. Best way currently is still winclone. However, many reported mixed results when restoring or migrating.

Good Luck.

Strontium is not original Mac RAM. Talk about misrepresentation.

They do use Hynix Chips, which Apple themselves use, yes. But from comparing, the original OEM Hynix chips appear to be higher quality.
