What talking you? With wifi, whatsapp still will work and send out messages. Don't believe? Try take out whole sim card, enable wifi, you will still be able to whatsapp.

I think I should rephrase, and just tell the problem directly...

Yes, you're right that in airplane mode + wifi on, whatsapp uses wifi.

The 'problem' comes in when phone is in normal mode + wifi on. Instead of using wifi, whatsapp is using cellular data to send/receive. If I force stay on 2G and wifi on, then whatsapp is using GPRS, and the transmission caused interference noise with my computer speakers. No noise is created when 3G and wifi are on. So I deduce whatsapp is using cellular data over wifi.

Not sure if this is a software bug or what. Don't remember having such phenomenon for 3GS + older version of whatsapp.

u sure if 2g + wifi on, whatsapp use data from simcard.

using 3gs on wifi 24/7, 3g only if needed.
example if i whatsapp halfway lost wifi or off wifi network, whatsapp will auto acquired connection status again. which mean its using wifi clearly to me.
dont believe, test it by sharing map etc.
2g vs wifi u can see the diff liao.

so i duno how u dervice its using 2g if its 2g + wifi only. same goes for 3g on, i still say its using wifi.

i know because from the speaker interference noise the 2g makes. so far i've seen from messages, i not very sure about pic/video and location sharing messages is by cellular data or wifi

through interference or not i duno.

all i can say through my own uses, my answer would be wifi. if not if ur 2g/3g stable and u loss wifi signal, y cant send normal msg out and need to reconnect.

reason of pic, is to see how fast the msg is transmitted to prove this statement too.

both result show is send through wifi i would say.

something weird just happened to my Whatsapp, all my conversations got "teleported" back in time to the beginning of the week. Anything that was said from then till now completely disappeared!

Anyone else encountered this?

Possible to use another Sim card with a different number to register a new whatsapp account, after which insert a multi-Sim card to use whatsapp based on the previous phone number?

Well, I have done here is I register my iPad with a phone number that does not have whatsapp and I created a chat group with certain people I wish to communicate using both devices. In the chat group comprises of my registered iPhone number and my "iPad" registered number. A bit troublesome. But still serve the purpose of receiving info in both devices. Although did not address the TS issues but a method worth considering?

Only WhatsApp version 2.6.7 & below can be used on multiple devices with the SAME mobile number.

And that is only possible AFTER ALL devices have identical UDID.

All devices will receive notification of incoming messages but only ONE copy of the message will be sent to the FIRST device to run WhatsApp.

Hi, can u elaborate more? What u meant by all devices have identical UDID? I've been using my bb and iphone 4s for months and I have always need to change authentication on each phone before I can use whatsapp.
