My passport is expiring this year.
Last week, I got my new passport, so need to update my new passport details for my CIMB MY a/c.
Yesterday, the CIMB SG branch reluctantly helped me to courier the paperwork to the MY branch.
They tld me most likely the Malaysia branch will ignore the paperwork sent and I will need to do the follow up myself.
After 14 working days, I will share again the outcome.
i went over to their branch at pelangi with my old passport and new passport.. i didnt bring my debit card nor IC cos our passport already has our IC number..done within 1 min. they'll print out a form on the spot and we signed it. thats all

Sharing my recent experience opening a CIMB MY account by CIMB SG @ Raffles place branch.
The below info was shared to me when I asked the CIMB bank staff who served me.

1. Need to book an appointment prior to going down to open a CIMB MY acct.
2. CIMB SG helps you to open a CIMB MY account by filling in the forms, verifying your details and sending them to CIMB MY for approval. You will need to bring your NRIC and Passport, ensure the PP expiry is not less than 6 months.
3. The CIMB MY account is "AirAsia savers" account. Annual fee is RM15 which is the cheapest among the rest.
4. CIMB MY account will closed once your passport expires.
5. To ensure CIMB MY account not closed prematurely, you have two options:
a. Go to CIMB MY bank, show them your old and new passport, so that they can update your CIMB MY account details.
b. Go to CIMB SG branch, tell them to assist you to update your CIMB MY account, they will assist you to fill in a form and submit to CIMB MY for approval.
6. CIMB SG don't accept RM for deposit. You will have to transfer SGD to RM via I-banking (CIMB Clicks SG app)
7. Only one CIMB MY debit card issued per account. Can't request for two or more.

If anyone has more to add to help others, please do so. Thanks.
does the Airasia debit card have the mastercard/visa functionality ? thanks

Quick question! I went to CIMB Raffles Place to open SG & MY account, and I am still waiting for acount activation from MY side. Meanwhile can I use SG's cimbclicks to link my MY account with my passport No. or do I have to wait until I receive SMS from CIMB MY?

is there a $10k daily transfer limit on your malaysia account due to a non-resident account? any idea to remove this limit?

Did you get the answer in the end? Does the MY cimbclicks app allow you to change the daily limit setting for local fund tranfer to another MY bank? Or is it that non-resident status the max per day is only RM$10K?

for CIMB MY:
debit card: RM20k per day
ATM withdrawal: RM 10k per day
Online funds transfers:
3rd Party or any DuitNow: RM50k
DuitNow QR: RM 10k
Doesn’t mention limits for online purchases

Thanks for the useful info. Does the 20K limit on the debit card include online purchase too?

Those with CIMB debit card, do note that you'll have to activate the Card-not-present to use for online activity.
e.g. e-wallet.

have to call in and activate or sms (which didnt work for me on my sg number)..

Thanks for this useful tips too. Does anyone know if the MY cimbclicks app can enable the debit card for online purchase since by default it is disabled?

If you are talking about topping up tng card via tng app, revolut doesnt work for me, haven't tried on trust but YouTrip card works!

Sharing my experience updating my passport (expiry date for my CIMB MY account in JB.

Went to CIMB branch in Gleneagles Hospital Medini Johor . Next to Legoland.
The Staff help me to process a form to update my passport so that my details got updated.

It's very likely if you open your CIMB MY from CIMB SG, the CIMB MY branch processing the application would be @ CIMB Bank Jalan Kuning Dua. If possible, go there directly to update your details else the CIMB MY account could be closed.

75, Jalan Kuning Dua
Taman Pelangi
80400 Johor Bahru
Johor

Do remember to bring at least 3 cards (On top of your old and new passport) bearing your name in order for the bank to update your details. They requested that from me. I.e. Driving license, different Credit cards.

I have no idea if they updated my details because to date, i did not receive any emails from them. I probably need to contact the Jalan Kuning branch directly.
