They drop a screws at the main fiber point and just use a cable tie to tie it back. I asked the screw to be replaced for safe but they refuse. Call up their manager and complain and he come down personally to have the screw replaced and making sure the plate is secure.

So watch every step they do. If the installation is not done correctly from day 1. It may gives you lots of problem in future. They you may end up calling here and there for help.

Same experience. my 20 year old power socket beside ONT TP perfectly fine one only one side going droop. Then when they detach the plug for the drill from the socket, they yank my whole socket out. They kept apologise and promised to use cable tie to tie back. Luckily im moving out this yr so nebermind.

Also they also anyhow drill my wall one. WTF OKAY? They drill until accidentally go drill thru the SCV (now starhub) cable box outside my home, my SD hubstation cable LED light began blinking (normal operation is solid orange). I tell you, i got so mad i jitao at them! Given this era you think I will survive without internet!? If the thing really spoil they dare try me i go sue their company. They keep apologise to me and think that this thing sua liao!? WTF.

Also one of my friend's home got drilled a 3cm hole and it mar the interior of the home. OMG.

Anyway if can use existing trunking and holes try to maximise them.

Look on the bright side, at least they did not demage your existing trunking. :s13: Can't help myself laughing at the shabby job. Sorry, not intending to mock at you. But why is the socket so dirty, some other renovation going on ?

As mentioned earlier, this socket had existed for over 20+ years. Here's something I would like to advice fellow members, Free things doesn't mean good service. Watch what they are doing and make sure they do the job well. This had been 2 months already. Moving out this year, so just forget about it. New owner will most prob renovate the home. :o

well mine using exisiting entrance from scv at the door... in the living room use new trunking...then into the next rm use existing trunking... so it a mixed...

they wanted to install in the living room... less than 4m but i cant move the cabinet lol :s13: so no choice into the next room...

i stare and watch them carefully also... i got 3 cable points in the home... as dont want to dmg all 3 of them at one go...

they even sweep the floor for me :D tip them with cold packets drinks :D and of them say ' Good morning' to me :D so it nice also :D

but the think is they use estimate the distance... i use the measuring tape to measure... whole think less than 7m but they put at 9m lol

There is length reading on the cable runs itself. Is pretty accurate than measuring tape. But they will roll more spare for the guy to splice, and that distance is included in paper likely as well.

Good for you ! So did you request him to use your existing trunking or to lay a new one ?

My neighbour opposite me had hers done today and their job is so shoddy, the way they plastic/glue the trunking I see already want to faint liao. When my turn comes, I will make sure they do it properly. Also it seem our block everyone have to pay extra leh, the first 15m not enough to cover from door to living room point. Both my neighbours paid $6x and $3x respectively.

Definitely enough for most, provided you don't ask them install elsewhere like in rooms.
