so what time they started at your place?

8:15 am. Last night and this morning, they insisted to come in at 8:00 am. Good thing I was already awake.

But seriously, the way they are pressured with so many installations, quality of work is really questionable.

Emmm what cables are you talking about? If you're talking about the fibre then its an optic fibre cable. If you're talking about existing cabling in your house then you need to find out yourself. Anything in the past few years should be CAT 5e at least.

got a bad experience from NetLink Trust today. They didn't appear but didn't inform me before hand. Took leave specially for them to come down to do the activation. When called, they told me that there's issue with the fibre lines, and cannot activate my 2nd port until the issue has been resolve backend. They even said that they have tried to call me and email yesterday to inform me but i did not respond. But the only call I gotten from them yesterday was from their contractor who said they will activate the 2nd port first, and will come back today to test the signal strength.

totally pissed off by such lousy service. waste my leave.

Usually for FTP port activation, it's all done at NLT end. Your ISP should have told you about this tbh. The only one you need to be around is for the fibre installation itself.

I asked MyRepublic, and they advised me to be at home, or at least someone to be at home as the NLT people would/may need to test the signal strength in my hse. Whereas for the fibre installation part, they say I need to be personally at home.

Sigh

I just sign up M1 500mbps online on 16th mar and just now went to sign the contract but M1 couldn't let me sign as both my Tp port was taken by StarHub fibre n SingTel digital voice. I already just did StarHub termination on 18th mar. Their advice is to call StarHub whether if they hv release one tp port and call net link to check if it's been release so that M1 can connect it. And last call M1 if all is done then I can go to sign the contract, the cso I spoke when I am at M1 told me he will try to expedite the connection if StarHub hv release it .How Long does I have to wait for StarHub n netlink complete this? Doesn't take more than 2 weeks I hope...now have to depend on my mobile data for now.

Actually the fiber implementation in Singapore is quite a fail to be honest. All the weeks of waiting just to change provider goes to show how little progress we have made even when technology has improved so much. Everybody is settling into their SOP to do just enough but not more.

just signed up m1 fibre recently and got a date for the Netlink people to come and setup the second fibre line and also for m1 to setup the ONT. Surprisingly, both appointments sui sui on schedule. I expected some delays like other customers had but mine sui sui.
