He was reading it off the test equipment. He did call someone before the test and show me the red light before proceeding to use the meter. Maybe yours is doing the reading at the other end.

Sure, you can also don't connect at their end also. Then no connection for you. Obviously, either side reading is indicative.

Test Measurement. 1310nm - 0.57, 1490nm - 0.45, 1550nm - 0.44.
Anyone understand the reading? Thanks!
After they left, I straightaway switched on my cabletv and net, everything in order. :D

These are average readings.

Mine was done this afternoon. My reading was 1310nm - 0.95 1490nm - 0.77 1550nm - 0.63. Any fibre experts out there ? What is your comments ? V.good/good/average/lousy ?

I consider this bad. But still a pass for vendor.

Did they install properly?

same here, I asked the contractors to install in one of the bedroom becuz that's where I have server, gateway computer, NAS is installed there, The contractors refuse to do it even I told I'm willing to pay them extra if I have to.... Lazy fu*ks they just do the living room.

They can only install one point, as instructed. You cannot push them for 2nd point else they will get into trouble. They have been sternly warned.

Just got mine done today by OpenNet.
Comparing to others,mine is higher.:(
Mine : 1310 - 1.13, 1490 - 0.98, 1550 - 0.86
( others bro reading :1310 - 0.28, 1490 - 0.19, 1550 - 0.15)

So mine any issue.. Pls advice.
Thanks.

Your results suck and should be considered marginaly fail. Did they install properly? Test between outside your home and inside your point to see the differences. If margin is big, the installation sucks.

Thanks for replying after my post was ignored for so long. Appreciated though. Was done by 2 India nationals or i suppose bagalas (very dark skin). Not being racist here.

We watch them very closely as they are doing. Seen the person who is doing the TP, using the alcohol solution to wipe the fibre splicing after striping them from the insulation.

So, do u suggest that we call OpenNet to redo the TP ?

As mentioned previously, if they could sign off the form to you, then it is deemed acceptable to them. Hence it is ok!

Not actually the case for me, the 1st team of ppl ask us to sign on the form b4 they put all the reading values down on the piece of paper.

Did they reflect the same reading to the copy they kept?
Anyway, the value is still acceptable.

Means they rushing their job to next place so ask u sign first.
In any case, there is warranty for the point, just that they wont fix it until you're started using it...
