Benchmark numbers are the most objective way to quantify performance differences, especially in cases like this where clock speeds and core configurations differ. The 14% difference in multi-core performance between the two Snapdragon variants isn't something that can be assumed without actual testing. Dismissing benchmarks ignores the nuances of performance evaluation.

Also, It was you that said "one can't assume the performance by the number of cores, that is a very bad way of "calculating" performance." Hence I provide factual numbers to show difference. Contradicting much, Captain Contradiction?
Beauty in the eye of the beholder... haha.

Just handled the phone at best denki, fwah it's such a nice shape and size to hold and it feels pretty light.

Biggest question is the price now!

prolly in the 2.3k range...

not getting it liao with the lousy ultra wide camera. shall wait... and see if x8 ultra will go global or not.

otherwise I can likely 'save' a few hundreds by getting honor v3 instead. was deciding between these two foldables.

turns out disappointed.

Update for sharing: went to Nex OPPO and asked, the sales person said X8 ultra not coming to SG :frown:

The n5 is quite long (tall) and feels like a Samsung z6 fold.

Many point out the fact the launch price of N3 was 2.3 but I feel they didn't have much competition then? Prob only Samsuck Fold at that time. This time they will need to compete with "previous" thinnest foldable in the world - V3. Launching at 2.3 quite a dumb thing to do when V3 launch at 1999.
I think they'll have to price it at 2,099 to at least make more people tempt to buy.

even based on the numbers you showed, its not a whole lot of diff, esp with architectural difference like i said.
Just so we are on the same topic, there are 2(or actually 3) topics here.

1(or 2) is 8GE 8c vs 7c vs 8G3 since people are saying buy V3. 2 factors are in question here
to clarify, no one can confirm unless one of us has hands on with the 7c 8GE here, but i do have hands on experience with 8GE 8c and 8G3

-8GE 8c vs 7c
even though i do not have hands on with 7c, but looking at the numbers you shown, its literally the 1 core difference

-8GE 7c(and 8c) vs 8G3
thats where i am (and people are) mainly talking about the difference here, even with 1 less performance core its still having 1 L oryon core and 6 oryon M cores, unless snapdragon did something like they did with 8G3 and 8sG3 (which i own a device also). Personal experience is that i literally saw 8GE ran benchmark tests much smoother when 8G3 lagged.

i do agree with your price argument tbh, even samsung price their fold 6 online at less than 1.8K now (or maybe i saw it wrongly). above 2K i wun consider at all
Also, 2.3k was with 2 year screen warranty. Mine was a Singtel set without 2 years screen warranty at 1.8 or 1.9 cannot rmb alr

Oppo has never been a cheap brand. Doubt Honor was ever considered as their direct competitor...

That's one thing I been thinking also, coz if x8 pro is priced at 1499 here, doubt the n5 will be sold at below 2k..

Foldables won't become mainstream unless they put superier camera, its a big compromise for many people including me, 99% guys use phone for photography these days!

Paying 40% more than slab phone and getting 2010 camera is NOT acceptable!

I think the top right lens (at the back) is for the UW. the aperture is super small as compared to the rest which I supposed is due to only 8mp sensor.
