Trying to take better control of your health? Steer clear of secondhand smoke.

Here’s the surprising reason: The amount of many cancer-causing chemicals is higher in secondhand smoke than in the smoke inhaled by smokers, accroding to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. As a result, nearly 3,400 nonsmokers die of lung cancer in the United States each year.

Even limited exposure to secondhand smoke can cause heart disease and trigger a heart attack. And if you’re a cancer patient, secondhand smoke can make your cancer treatments, including chemotherapy, less effective.

You may already be familiar with the dangers of smoking, but can one cigarette have an impact on your health?

Yes, according to “How Tobacco Smoke Causes Disease,” a 704-page report from the United States Surgeon General’s office. Because tobacco has thousands of addictive chemicals that cause cancer, even a whiff of tobacco can adversely affect the body, the report found.

My neighbour below me smokes at certain hours of the day

While I don’t like it, he’s a nice guy so I don’t give him shiat for it

At least it’s not too excessive

But with this law do they go down to smoke or what? No yellow box also

Banning smoking at home is plain blanket overkill. Just like the stupid no drinking or sales of alcohol after 10pm.

The best way is to allow smoking but ensure windows and doors are closed to prevent smoke from wafting out en mass.

No use if nobody enforces it. Which agency to take charge? Is there a proper avenue to raise complain aka rat your neighbor out? What kind of evidence to provide? Again will action be taken?

I think they should just outright ban - treat it like how they treat other harmful drugs. Make Singapore the only country in the world without cigarettes.

World first again.

Govt proposes banning smoking in the privacy of your own home but has no problem importing infected cecas into the country every single day. Well done. Who you vote for?

Hahah these bunch of white lackeys are the real root of problem.
