LG 27GR95QE OLED monitor

I have been playing with FPS mode for more than 100++ hours without VRR & G-syned enable, just happen today I wanna try someting different and noticed the FPS mode + G-sync seems so much better in gaming and it help to resolved the flickering issue i experince previously compared to Gamer 1 mode + G-sync

my current setting on the monitor was:

Game Mode : FPS

Game Adjust : VRR on

Picture Adjust : Brighness 90

Nvidia Driver : Game Ready Driver 531.79

Connection : HDMI 2.1

Resolution : 2560 x 1440 (Native)

Refresh Rate : 240Hz

Color Depth : 12 bit

Color Format : RGB

Dynamic Range : Full

G-Sync: Enable G-sync compatible + Full Screen + Display Specific Setting

Games Tested: MW2, Halo Infinate, RE4 remake

for those who wish to used G-syned perhaps can give it a try, if not suitable then can just reset to what is your preference mode for game play.

I use FPS mode but last few days I'm trying out Gamer 2 with brightness at 85. Seems slightly better than FPS mode honestly. At Brightness at 100, it looks washed out on Gamer 2. Only 2 modes I feel worth trying for games is Gamer 2 with 85% brightness and FPS mode with 90%-100% brightness. Gamer 1 is much too dark and whites are yellowish.

Yeah the gamer 1 seem to less bright and sometime those reviewer comments recommended mode really restrict the choice of user make it seem like other mode is not worth using.

FPS mode at 90 brightness + g-sync have been fairly stable and so far I do not experience any obvious ABL even the brightness was more than I needed at daytime with windows open wide.

I will try this FPS+G-sync for a period of time for more games and media use before moving to gamer 2 per your suggestions (y)

Wah you got this monitor. I checked it out irl and noticed it's quite dim, especially compared to my aw3423dw. Also i think it's a bit hard for me to go back to regular size after using two UW monitors in a row, the 38gn950 and the aw3423dw.

I got mine since Mar been more than 300+ hours now :)

Ya agreed I noticed many comments it's dimmer for their use case, to me it's just nice and in game mw2 flash bang does not blind me when I play in dark room :ROFLMAO: I set mine to 600nits using the calibration tool and HDR on all time.

I understand the need on uw for work and documents reference.

For my usage is better with 2 separate monitor (4k IPS + 2k OLED) with different windows open and as your aware win11 have quite efficient windows separation functions, so at time I can open more than 5 windows (1 games, 1 HWinfo, 1 hwz, 1 telegram/whatsapp, 1 Netflix/YouTube/Disney+) without hassle moving around depends on my needs and I watch anime the most to benefit from the 16:9 aspect ratio :)

I tried to change the output color to 444 and to my surprises all HDR looks much better as well as even on gamer 2 the HDR was surprisingly good with better color accuracy.

may i know if you have try this before?

for now I think i will using this to experience more, and for now I really enjoy how th HDR perform and it is also seems very good with HDR movie in netflix so much better than RGB.

Left side seems overly bright.
Yeah side by side compared, left is the 4k IPS monitor at 400 nits HDR, right is the LG OLED at 650 nits.

IPS blooming and growing in HDR. Some might prefer the brightness if not compare side by side with OLED

almost same result as me.
I bought Dell 3223D 2K IPS HDR monitor previously, and to be honest, the black looks a bit pale and did not enjoy the monitor that much after a while using it
gave it away together with my old system, to my nephew.
built and bought a complete new latest PC system and replacing the dell IPS monitor with a new Oled Alienware AW3423DW monitor and in the end i really enjoy it so much

Nice 👍 HDR tune correctly the impact can be much better experience than RTX overall especially on those lighting effects

Thanks for the sic. Played for a bit. Colors and lighting looks beautiful. Lighting reflections off chrome colored armor also very chio. Gameplay okay okay for now la since it’s still beta.
Yeah the HDR is impressive and game play is okay okay like you mentioned lol. My 5800x3D + 3080 ultra setting average 80fps no upscaling
