Using usb powered sound bar from taobao. Cost only about $7, + ezbuy sea shipping about $2. Totally no hiss when connected to pc.

Sample of sound output can listen to the review below at 6:12 timing before he lifted up the soundbar. Sound output quite loud, i usually turn the sound bar volume dial to max then pc sound at level 8-10%.

thousands of moons ago, tried many computer speakers (altec lansing, acoustic energy, creative, etc) and finally settled with Klipsch Promedia 2.1. Agree that promedia 2.1 is really not bad.

now is using HQplayer+Roon wifi streaming via opticalrendu link to dedicated DAC to amp to speakers. Not going back to computer speakers.

Asking for a fwen

I was looking at pulse 4 because it was pwetty. What are the better options at similar price range? (under 500)

Wants:

Bluetooth connectivity
Good sound, not an audiophile something better than average will do, I don't understand any of the techy specs for sound.
Have some bass
Non-plasticky sound

Nice to haves:

White color
Shiny lights
Portable
Stereo
Modern looking
Solid build
Thx.
end up buy what

It's the only small sound bar I can find, and leecommend by edmw. I tried it out, it sounds really bad..
U mean the creative Stage 360? It's their latest sound bar right? In what way is it bad?

And u mean recommended by hardware zone or edmw bros?

Yes creative stage 360, i also tried katana v2 in the same price range. When compare to klipsch, (which the shop personnel was pushing), Creative falls short in the sound quality. In terms of price klipsch was 100++ dollar more.

If you don't care about music quality, only watch drama then I think creative is good enough.

i find it hard to find that perfect speaker / sound bar that is good for both movies and music

most of the time good bass will make movies sound good but make music sound muddy

Means you haven't heard good bass

In the first place, there is no difference between a speaker good for movie and good for music. There's only those that suck less in a particular area because not enough $$$

If you haven't reached the point where you need to add room correction, you don't even have enough bass yet. And that makes both music and movie bad.

A PC speaker soundbar's subwoofer is only around as low as the typical studio monitor only. Promedia's subwoofer does noticeably better than that tho.

Actually top up abit Marshall is not bad, but I don't like the way it looks and I want stereo speakers.

The higher end ones in the 1k range sound alot better. And klipsch is quite close to those.
