speakers are one thing that never really improve over the years, infact audio quality went down instead because of wireless and bluetooth streaming =(

go test hear a aego m 2.1. these pair of speakers are so old but yet still remain so relevant till date.

Or maybe because people stopped acting pretentious that they can hear the difference between vinyl and bluetooth

No need say CD music... even MP3 music can be better quality than wat u get these days on Spotify, Youtube which sadly is also where I get my daily fix of music now... :(
last time mp3 are all encoded in 128kbps or 96... Spotify highest quality stream is 320kbps. The difference which is nt audible for 99.9% of the population vs lossless(CD quality).

From wat I remember... most mp3s were encoded in 128kbps but there were some in 320kbps

What I can say after just buying a Creative Stage Air V2 is that unless your soundbar is really wide or you sit far away enough, the stereo separation isn't good enough... my super old Altec Lansing ACS 45.1 was much better in this respect...

I am thinking of downsizing my speakers from JBL LSR305PMkII to something smaller/compact.

I am looking at iLoud MTM or Creative Katana V2x. Not sure what do you guys think?

All these Creative Stage n Creative Katana sound bars are just too short, small soundstage, they sound like mono speakers.

Ok-ish lar, at least they are quite physically long for a PC sound bar. And with proper EQ it can rectify the small-speaker feeling. But EQ is a *must*.

And then of course if you put it in the middle of a TV then no amount of EQ can save it.

Most soundbars nowadays (those over $100) also have some speaker-widening or virtual-speaker feature that can help with the feeling.

Soundbars are still a solution for people who somehow don't have space for bookshelves. Mostly due to aesthetic reasons.

I was just after a small neat solution without significant number of wires hanging around... sound quality wasn't very high on my agenda at the end of the day... clarity was and so was volume levels... both of which the soundbar met including the space requirement...
