On the upcoming 11-11, I am thinking if can get a phone to replace my current primary day to day Poco F1. I am thinking between Redmi Note 10 Pro and Pocophone F3. I tried to compare them on gsmarena and their reviews, and seem that they are quite a close match.
Any user can advise what are the hits and misses I should take note if I am deciding between either RMN10P or F3?

Btw, I understand both also use side fingerprint unlock. Stupid question, if I buy a niilkin casing (the type which will cover camera lens), does it mean I won't be able to unlock the phone with fingerprint since the side is covered by the casing???

Both phone are using ultrasonic proximity sensor which is powered by software. RMN10P got SD card slot & 3.5mm jack while F3 don't have.

Can unlock phone with Nillkin casing, they got cutting for side fingerprint.

You need to ask yourself if you are someone who emphasise more on camera or processor.

If camera choose RMN10P, processor then F3.

to be more clear, there isnt a proximity sensor.
When you use apps that require proximity sensor, the top speaker emits some kind of sound wave u cant hear, then the phone uses its microphones to judge distances with software magic.
thats why all the recent xiaomis do not have the "pocket mode". there isnt a proximity sensor to make it work.

For me good photography is good to have, but my concern is more of the lack of dedicated SD card slot and 3.5mm jack (though I am mainly using bluetooth earphone). Just curious if you guys find the lack of SD card slot and phonejack a hassle after using?

By the way, the local set F3 (5G 8GB+256GB), it does have NFC and infrared (able to control tv) correct? The 11-11 $429 is really very very tempting good chance for me to upgrade from my current F1...

I just notice RMN10P just went out of stock both on shopee and Lazada. Not sure if it was intentional or just "close" for 11-11

I used to have a few Xiaomi phones. Eventually, I gave up on the cameras. Only the Xiaomi flagship phones' cameras can make it but at a big premium.

The Poco F3 is not really meant for good photo taking. For roughly the same price, it's better to choose the Redmi Note 10 Pro for camera.

the original photo app takes just ok photos, sometimes less sharp (aka blur) under darker environment. but i started using gcam and the photo quality has improved tremendously. it can even take night photos pretty well. taking photos was always a disappointment for me, but now i'm satisfied. it is not flagship quality but good enough for taking daily life photos.

i rarely make calls, so not sure about the proximity sensor issue, or lack of. but just now i received a scam call, i answered it and the screen turns off and on as expected when i put it on and off my ear. at least for me it is working fine. haha.

For the price, nothing much to feedback really. Its a run of the mill standard shooter.

Compared to a phone 2-3 years back, in similar price brackets, it is better.

want flagship camera, must pay alot more :o
