Yup. I'm sure a lot would be 128GB cos of the sale haha. Yeah i do backup and i delete videos nowadays after i upload to youtube. You can't be lazy for too long unless you don't mind losing your data cos after you filled it up, also need to transfer somewhere eventually and 256GB is even more to backup

I gotten a cheap otg cable (less than a buck), used a free uSD card reader (when i bought the uSD), and Poco F2 is able to read the card i used in previous LG phone. So media access and transfer no problem...
Even the 4 year old LG phone also can use the otg.

But funny thing is, Mi 9, A1 and A2 with newer android than LG can’t read. Wonder why...

Wouldn't it be easier just use cloud to store videos and pictures or install a NAS at home if you are not comfortable having it in cloud. Having such big storage just takes so long to backup and transfer to new phones.

Yeah i have NAS and stuff but most of the time i try to delete those i feel i wouldn't need it again or even revisit so i save on cloud or external storage also. Like you said, file management is a bitch. My friend years ago already buy 128GB phones when it was still a premium cos she takes like 10 photos or so for 1 scenario then she's too lazy to delete them so i think 60% of her storage are redundant stuff.

Now i try to think why i need the extra storage, mainly so i have some "extra" space left so phone won't lag, enough storage to take 4K60fps videos (now 8K) in one outing and tahan 2-3 days in case i lazy to backup so 128GB is just nice. The last phone i have before i bought new ones this year, is only 32GB, always left around 4-5GB if i religious clear cache and delete files. I think that's the threshold before the phone start to be sluggish.

I think need the manufacturer to state explicitly if it support OTG. Nowadays i think i don't see it anymore. I think Google only supported it on the devices for a couple of years before they stop doing it. Not sure now though and it's kind of a mess. Just like voice recording used to be a thing on Samsung phones, then after a firmware update, they took it away and since then no more ol

Just had my F2 Pro firmware flashed to MI Global ROM at Funan service centre. Initially the service staff very hesitant to do the reflash, had to use the Funan store's F2 Pro demo unit to convince them.

Agreed, definitely very odd. Gotten a few phones from this Shopee seller, all MI Global ROMs except this F2 Pro. 🤷

From what I have seen, very few custom ROMs at the moment. If you can't stand MIUI, then even MIUI 12 won't change your mind to be honest.

It's still a nope but more usable. Seriously, if you've used stock Android before, everything else is a nope lol. Even custom rom can be horrible, used to use custom rom in Galaxy S1 but cos that phone was near unusable out of the box, other than that, the bugs in custom roms are just like MIUI lol.

Finally the 12.0.3 firmware came in

Funny thing is mine is 12.0.3 with September security update lolol
Yours seems to be the EU ROM.
12.0.3 on Sept patch is EU ROM while 12.0.4 on Sept patch is MI ROM.

EU just means ROM is designed for use in Europe, doesn't mean it will have less bloat and ads than Global MI versions. One thing is certain though, updates for EU ROMs is slower than MI ROMs.

Don't use the stock system apps and you will not see any ads. Use all Google equivalent app.

I hardly, only gallery and .... hmmmm, probably nothing else.

Also, today i found out the Instagram hair lens thing doesn't work on both this phone and the Redmi Note 9S, so i assume all Xiaomi phone not supported. Does it work for you guys? Not sure if it's just matter of time or not at all, which is lame.

Thought the whole point of EU Rom is cos of their law which require the bloat to be uninstallable. I'm ok with the slower updates since It's Xiaomi, better wait for people to test first wahahaha.

Oh yeah, for those with 12.0.4, do you guys have long exposure mode for camera?

Just an update. Finally tried using NFC on the MRT and bus and both work! Happy! :s13: Now i'm almost paying everything by mobile, kinda ironic since before i got my Redmi Note 9S, i had NFC on my Samsung phone and never tried a 2nd time since it didn't feel reliable. The detection is definitely way faster than when i tried it with my Galaxy Note 5 years ago.

Too bad the Gpay reward is only 3x a week.
