Been using G Pay on bus and mrt for a while.

No need to unlock when using G Pay to tap on public transport and making retail purchases below $200. Only have to wake your phone, i.e. screen must be on.

Remember to set the secure element position to HCE wallet.

The Unlock thing i'm not so sure, i can't remember cos i think once i tried in NTUC and it failed then i goto call the person over to reset the payment all over again haha. But it could have been cos i was trying to pay with the phone not on instead. However since you have been using, you are most likely right, there are just too many variables on my phone and sim :s13:

No need to unlock the phone, just need to wake up the screen, by double tapping the screen (be sure to enable in setting).

In GPay, set the credit card you wanna use for transport payment as default, and set GPay as your default payment app.

If need to track all transport transactions, install SimplyGo app, and register the same credit card with the app.

Before tapping in the bus/mrt remember to turn on NFC and mobile data.
If taking train in underground stations, make sure to use a mobile data plan that have signal underground.

SimplyGo is not a ride payment app eh? It won't double charge or fail to read on the gantry right?

this app shows the transaction captured when the user uses the registered credit cards taking public transport...
when a particular trip shows an error, eg there’s no wifi and the trip is charged in full, user can use the app to file for a claim as well. straight forward and refund goes back to the credit card.

Sounds like a Samsung hah. But i'm sure the first Xiaomi phone wasn't as bad as the Galaxy S1. That phone right out of the box you wanna throw it away. They were using their own file system back then and when it was laggy like hell, i factory reset, turn on the phone and go Contacts app and it froze, imagine a clean phone laggy till that point. Good thing for custom rom back then, totally saved the phone. But the build quality and hardware reliability didn't come in until Galaxy S6. Took them a god damm 6 years to get things right.

Ah, then the first Xiaomis weren't so bad after all. I bought the very first Redmi Note 3G (was still in NS then), back then MIUI is usable but super primitive, plus the phone didn't have 4G support and I was on H+ speeds even though I am on a 4G plan, cannot tahan so I got the 4G model the moment it launched, the Note 4G lasted me a good 2 years before I upgraded to a Mi 5. That's when I felt they have come a long way in just 2 years, even the same year's Redmi Note 3 was such a vast improvement from the Note 4G. :s13:

simplygo app is just to let u see your trip how far and how much. the payment is still settled by gpay.

Thank you. But if we also use the Ez-Link card, will it reflect also? Like lump them together with the Gpay

You can add ez-link cards to SimplyGo but it will show the transactions as a seperate card, it will not lump together with your credit/debit cards.

Install Youtube Vanced so there will not be ads. Pretty much it. Of cos depending on which phone he's using now, you need to research how to transfer things he wants over the new phone.
