I also have a disconnecting issue but with WiFi. The WiFi disconnects on its own and doesn't reconnect on its own until I switch the wifi option off and on again. Then it reconnects but drops again later now and then. This has happened a number of times already over the last few days at home.

Can't be my WiFi problem as my other phones don't have this issue.

Any thoughts?

Why dont u dload battery monitor. Then you can tell whats eating your batt

I using GSam battery monitor free version to monitor batt usage.

But theres some tinkering to do if you want to really measure your battery usage. GSam says they're reversible
For gsam it hasn't been updated in ages. It no longer functions properly on MIUI with Android 9. Dunno about non MIUI phones though

Sent from Xiaomi MI 9T PRO using GAGT

oh wow. I did notice that it doesnt refresh like normal batt levels, so it might still b showing 80% when batt already 75%. But eventually it refreshes and overall, the tracking seemed fine.

Thank you for highlighting this. I will see what other batt monitors there are.

Actually bro it’s more of an ocd want on your part la.
I can’t help them display what you want but I can help you with some tips to Ensure standby dropping is not so much.

A) factory reset your phone, if you had a major patch installed that is usually the no. 1 culprit. And don’t restore from google or mi cloud for your apps, go to App Store and install it one by one.

B)
1) on the miui optimisation
2) on the battery optimisation
3) start off with go through all your apps and disable autostart, disable background refresh, disable location. Only enable for gpay and communication app like whatsapp, but please don’t enable it (during this testing) esp for messenger, social media apps including FB, IG etc. and banking apps

4) Ensure all the communication apps and gpay that you enabled in step 3 to turn on battery optimisation.

5) for your email client ie gmail client or the in-built email app to Ensure to set to every 15 min retrieval rather than push. Also Ensure the email client has battery optimisation turned on.

6) clear all background apps in task manager and then restart you phone.

7) under these settings go through 1-2 charging 10%-100% cycle and observe.
You should be able to get better standby battery sipping.

8) finally, after ensuring good standby battery sipping baseline. Turn on autostart and background refresh (one app at a time during testing) the app you want it to test, eg. Your email client to change to push.

9) look out for any delay in receiving notification and also battery standby sippage after turning that app.

10) if got delay turn off battery optimisation for that app and lock app in task

I'm doing almost exactly the same thing as my Redmi Note 9S on the battery optimization part so i blame it more on the MIUI 12 and maybe SD865 not being as efficient as the SD720G since it probably uses more power to do everything.

Factory reset is not an option now since while it seems to drain more than i like, i still get about 7-9hrs of SOT with average use from what i remembered in a total of 40hrs between charges. Is that the same for you guys?

My Redmi Note 9S can hit about 10-11hrs with about the same hours between chargers. I figure with a less powerful SoC and slightly bigger of 300 mAh it should be around there.

*Just to add, the drop from 100% to 99% is very fast even though i "overcharge" it like 30mins unlike my Redmi Note 9S. But i do notice for both phones, the 100%-90% drop is the fastest and then it slows down as the percentage gets lower, which is of course a good thing but i rather it be evenly distributed lol.

I try not to have too many unnecessary apps installed. Right now i don't think anything is really eating my battery heavily without usage cos right out of the box after i do my 1st charge and use, it's already like that while i was configuring my phones prior to reinstalling my apps. If you read my post below, i also mentioned the SOT time and between charges of how many hours which seems not too bad or at least normal so the uncomfortable part is seeing how fast the battery drop initially and i think it's more like the battery stats not evenly distributing it.

I had that with my Note 9S on MIUI 11 but it's on my 5Ghz connection then it will drop back to 2.4Ghz . The Poco F2 Pro i only set it to connect to 5Ghz and so far no issues at all.

Mine 9s no such issue... I force all to connect to 5ghz.

How to force to connect to only 5 GHz?

My router has different SSID for 2.4 and 5Ghz, i usually set both on the phone so if 5Ghz drop it will try to reconnect back, if can't then will go to 2.4Ghz. Previously, my Note 9S keep having issue trying to stay connected to 5Ghz, even when i off then on the wifi on my phone.

Yes actually is not hardware issue it’s software handshaking issues. My Redmi note 4 on some rom it will connect to my 5Ghz wifi no prob but in Roms (esp those ported over) it will have the same issues as described by you.

For me sometimes, wiping the phone and reinstalling the rom helps. But in your case either wait for patch from xm or try factory reset your phone?

Tried Gpay at MRT, phone off/lock/unlock all didn't work. Then realize I'm using TPG SIM, no network at MRT 😭

Maybe is wifi channel issue.. Try change another channel in router.
