What is SOT, OCT, POBC? I’m not good with variants sorry! Do you know the minimum fitness requirement and is there a minimum BMI? I know maximum is 25(?) but not too sure about minimum. I’m scared they will reject me because of my size and stuff

When you mean interview process is very long, do you mean the entire application process or just the interview part? :O

Also, do you recommend signing on during UNI or after graduating? Can you sign on during UNI but it’s not the scholarship kind (if u know what I mean)

VSC and Regular are different entity. For example, you are a ASP (V) and you wish to sign on, you will needs to go for PO scheme and demoted to SGT (Polytechnic Diploma/GCE A holder) or SO scheme with some conversion training and demoted to Insp (Degree holder).

If you are a VSC Performer, you get a chance to get in or else it actually affect you to sign on.

I did share somewhere in HWZ that VSC take a very long time, so don't expect additional things like 'before start of university' as part of your plan. This is because there are a lot of intake for active servicemen cause both NSF and Regular attended the same course. VSC intake only conducted when they have enough volunteers to form a class and it is conducted at night specially for them only.

I attended the SA yesterday for direct sergeant and did not complete the psychometric test (abstract reasoning part).

Will it affect my enlistment results? :')

Was it the part of the test that involved patterns or was it the one with the long paragraphs?

Either way, I feel it won't be a total deal breaker if you didn't complete the test on time as the psychometric test are not the sole factor in passing the SA. They take your performance from your panel interview into consideration too.

Don't worry too much, just hang on for the next month or so. My Medical is next week and I had my SA around the end of March. So it'll take about a month or so before they send out emails for medical screening. Usually they will inform rejected applicants within a couple weeks.

No news is good news!

Yea I rmb! Coz I had emailed spf and they actually told me we can get in within 2-3 months. But I’m not too sure hahah. I’m ok with being demoted back to inspector if it increases my chance of getting in. How do you know so much btw! Are you part of the force?

It was the pattern ones, I took my sweet time instead of pacing myself accordingly

Haha, I don't think anyone will even get to be Insp (V) so easily because they have to wait for a long time to be promoted from CPL (V) to SGT (V).

You must really perform, clock a lot of hours and network with HQ in order to increase your chance of 'fast track' VSC promotion or even consider for signing on with SPF.

Oh man, do you know the reasons? Like what’s the most common reasons? I’m very sure SPF is the job for me but I’m a little afraid I might lose passion for it after signing on! Especially after hearing so many stories of people quitting.

If you join them, you will have to wait very long for promotion cause opportunity will be given to the senior. That why you will wait for your promotion from SGT to SSG as NPCO but you will miss the opportunity to join other department and remain as NPCO.

For those who join as CPL, you may not get to be promoted to SGT after 5 years and you will be very sian at those fresh SGT (NSF & REG) joining you.

End day most likely your whole career will only be in NPCO especially you don't get to be promoted to higher rank when your turn come.

Some get degree but cannot become a SO while some decided to left the force to try their luck in private sector for graduate jobs.
