Hey guys, I have just went for my medical checkup, during the audiometry test the doctor told me I have a medium bad to bad result on my right side of ear also I did a surgery for my left shoulder due to dislocation when i am serving NS, Anyone have any knowledge whether does it heavily impact the chances of entering the spf?

Guess the very fact that it was a concern to be highlighted means will impact?

Would have been better to ask the doctor who reviewed your results during the consultation tbh
I know of people who got accepted despite having prior shoulder surgery but it really do be case by case depending on severity etc
Audiometry that one can't really say cus idk anyone with bad results

Ahh okayy, initially I was pes B4L3 but was able to pump up to B2 after 2 years of recovering. So hopefully they would accept it. Yes the one I more concerned was audiometry as I felt nothing unusual listening to music or people talking in my daily life!

Yes, 3-4 years back I did fired matador, m203, MG and SAR21.. so I hope they don’t really have issue with my audiometry result!

I believe the concern is more for whether your shoulder will be prone to re-injury during physical training such as PDT and when apprehending suspects

Seems like ur issue developed after that? If not why would it be an issue now for them to flag

This I actually got the doctor to do a check up and gave me a memo hence I am able to bump my pes up to B2.

I believe this hearing impairment is incurable. It can only get worsen if I am constantly expose to noisy environment or loud sound. I have no idea too, probably it’s not very common to the doctor?

It depends on the issue also
bad hearing as in you cannot hear certain frequencies or do you hear ringing even when there's no sound (tinnitus)
only the doctor can advise you based on this

Hmm this one may be abit tough because SPF did put on their website for males must be PES A/B1
Only ICA so far say below B1 on case by case basis
you may need to up PES but see how it goes bah

Nope I didn’t get to do this medical questionnaire. The only one I did was during medical check up itself.

The title was pre employment medical questionnaire but the actual title in doc is

Singapore public service medical condition questionnaire for candidate

Weird because I thought mx scheme don't need medical and my regular friends never seen this form before also. Hmm ok
