VSC and REG is different entity which mean what training and rank you get as a VSC cannot bring over to REG and have to start all over again (The only things can bring over is your service medals).

So you can still serve as VSC without quitting while applying for REG position.

However you needs to quit VSC once you sign on as REG cause conflict of interest.

If during vsc period, wanna switch to regular have to resign from vsc and apply as per normal? Is there any scheme to switch from vsc to regular?

Are there any complications for doing so?

Will being a VSC decrease or increase the chances of being a REG?

In a logical sense definitely will help as compare to a normal civilian. As a VSC, you r doing the same things as a regular while on the ground.

The only different is the level of responsibility and commitment expected from you, since you r a "part-timer".

They will take your VSC conduct & performance into consideration.

VSC is a follower and only aims clock minimum hours most of the time which does not make you anything outstanding which will decrease your chances of being a REG.

Unless you clock a lot of hours, polish shoes with your management and seize every opportunity to work on special projects at HQ to know HQ and Management staffs, then high chances you get a chance to be promoted to A/Insp (V). This can use a guideline if you want to sign on as a REG from a VSC.

hi guys i applied for PTU last year and got through all the way to medical but decided to withdraw cos i accepted another job offer. I regretted my decision. This year i decided to apply for spf again but recently i broke my collarbone and had to go for surgery but I've recovered. Anybody knows if it will affect my application?

Hi guys,

I am looking to apply for either direct entry inspector or the home team specialist scheme (PID).

Somehow i do not see there is any opening for the specialist scheme after clicking apply. For this, will have to wait until there is an opening is it?

I believe they have stated that the process is around 6 months? Including medical check up etc..

No, i mean the duration between the SA till the AD. Base on other's timeline I seen an approx wait time of around 1 month in-between. Mine is already 2 months + and still no news
