I am a Ngee Ann Polytechnic and NTU Alumni and I have seen many school IT brochures. I can tell you that both the laptops are super worth it base on the specifications alone. This is also the first year that I feel this two notebook are more worth it than those that are upcoming in the IT Shows.

However, FX553 stands out more with 400 dollars less than GL553 with the same discrete graphic cards and even bigger SSD size.
They are giving you a free 1TB Sata in the package so you do not have to worry about space. The three year warranty is also more than enough to put you at ease.

School
Price: S$1,174.86
Specs: gtx1050 4gb
Warranty: 3 years
More Gifts like 1TB HDD

Asus Store

Price: S$1498.00
Specs: gtx1050 2gb
Warranty: 2 years

nah gaming most of the time 8GB is enough unless u want to get super HQ and widescreen monitor. but in laptop case is more than enough since monitor not that high reso.

next if u are doing some rendering for engineering design or video or photo editing den more rams is better in 1 way or another.
