Rly can't decide if I should get the 1.1k Asus gaming laptop or Dell xps13.. Showed my friends spec for the i5 xps13 and all say Kns, lousy, ask me go for the Asus. I also know the Asus have great specs for the price, but can't imagine me carrying that 2.5kg laptop to sch everyday lol..

What are the specs for the xps 13 i5 version?
If u don't game and don't mind paying more for portability then go for it, but make sure u check with your poly to make sure the specs are good enough for your course.
Imo, it's not so much the weight but the thickness that makes it difficult to bring around(just went to see it at it show).

It really depends on your course. If all u need to do is MS office stuff then its definitely enough. But if u need to do rendering or other stuff that is graphics intensive the get a laptop with better specs.

However, it is still best to email the head of department at your poly school to find out if the specs are good enough.

I do agree with your friends though, the price to performance ratio is horrible for the i5 xps 13

Ok i'm probably going to IT show to bargain a good price for Pavilion 15 HP 1TB or buy from Amazon.

Polys are selling Pavilion 15 but with only 256GB so I don't think that will be enough.

Got my laptop from IT fair in the end. The specifications are almost the same except that the I fair's Pavilion 15 has 1TB HDD storage space with 16GB RAM for $1499. They also gave me a free wireless Dell speaker =P. Warranty is two years.
