HKT was quite early in deploying 10Gbps service back in 2015, but it seems to me the adoption rate in HK home is much lower than the 10Gbps service in Singapore, probably because Singapore government started to offer subsidy to the ISPs in2023/2024.
HK ISPs' 25Gbps/50Gbps plan are more of a niche plan for home users now (but good for business users). So I guess it will take time for the mass adoption.
Therefore SG government and ISPs can take some time and wait for the maturity of 25Gbps/50Gbps gears to become more mature (using 50G PON technology) to deploy 25Gbps/50Gbps Fibre Internet services to home, say in 2028 or 2030.

Meanwhile, a 10Gbps fibre optic network in Hong Kong was deployed by HKT back in 2015. It has now evolved into a fully symmetrical fibre optic network providing advanced high-speed broadband services for over 98% of Hong Kong households, together with 5G mobile broadband technology.
The success of this deployment led to the recognition of HKT by the Hong Kong Government to participate in the OFCA Subsidy Scheme to expand fibre coverage to remote villages in Hong Kong. In this scheme, over 97 remote villages were selected for fibre optic coverage.
As of January 2023, HKT had installed over two million kilometres of fibre optic cable cores in Hong Kong, which helped establish the region as one of the world’s most well-connected cities with the greatest level of internet penetration and some of the highest internet speeds anywhere.
HKT clinched the Infrastructure Initiative of the Year - Hong Kong award for this solution.
