I have a Canon MX-886. I bought this model cause it can do duplex ADF scanning. I like the inkjet printer except that I also print quite a lot of pdf in bw. The printer ink runs out quickly.

So what are my option ? I should get a laser printer to just print duplex BW or should I get one that can do duplex scanning and replace the inkjet printer ?

Thanks.

Just get a laser printer like brother HL-2270dw to print your duplex documents. Cause while you retain your canon mx-886 you also retain not just your duplex adf scanning but also your colour printing. Since you print more in mono it is better for you to get 2 printers. Now most value buy mono printers still do not have duplex scanning yet.

The HWZ tech award editors choice 2012 is Fuji Xerox M205fw.

Mono 4in1 and wireless.

Printer quite valued for money at $309+$30 ntuc vouchers last show.

However, dont have duplex and airprint :/

You may want to consider Brother MFC-7860dw

Mono 4in1 wireless duplex and airprint

Last show $398.
Thanks a lot for the recommendation! I checked apple website for printers that support airprint (iOS: AirPrint 101) and the MFC-7860DW is not listed? or do i need an external app for it?

Edit: My bad! It's stated on the Brother website that it comes with the iPrint&Scan app. Ignore my qns thanks! :)

For color laser with duplex xerox cm305df just now within your budget. Warranty 3 years also. But have network only no wireless.

For the non-duplex model of xerox is cm205fw. Warranty 2 + 2 years Have network and wireless.

So far in the market there is no other brand that can beat xerox colour print out quality.

For xerox A3 print only colour laser already $2k ++ hahaha :/

Xerox got only one booth this time. So just get from there. 99.9% cheaper than retail. 0.1% allowance in case some reseller gone mad and slash like hell:s13::s13::s13:

Any help?????

Go for CM205fw
Fuji Xerox CM205fw (4in1) $649 (retail)
4 years on-site warranty
Toners
Black $95 page yield 2k
Cyan $95 page yield 1.4k
Magenta $95 page yield 1.4k
Yellow $95 page yield 1.4k
2,400 x 1,200 dpi.
Got usb port to print, scan from thumbdrive.
Network and wireless. + supports phone, ipad , android direct printing or scanning.

For 3-in-1 wireless only HP have color m175nw. $629 (retail)
3 years n-site warranty
Black $72 page yield 1.2k
Cyan $76 page yield 1k
Magenta $76 page yield 1k
Yellow $76 page yield 1k
Network + wireless.

But printing speed is damn slow and not as nice as fuji xerox.

Xerox
Mono 15 ppm
color 12ppm

HP
Mono 15pm
color 4ppm :)s11::s11: so slow)
Some more printing using 4 pass so if one color finish u have to change they cannot print. But xerox can cause they printing through 1 pass.

Go for Brother MFC-7860dw even though it is a 4in1. Better value buy
