I'm looking for recommendations on a single function color laser printer.

I'm looking for:
1. Color
2. Print only (Single function)
3. 100 ~ 300 pages/month
4. As cheap as possible (<$250 if possible)
5. Cheap replacement drums/toner. Wireless and auto duplex would be nice, but not necessary.

I have done a couple of reading and shortlisted the Fuji Xerox CP115 w but I wonder if I should pay extra $ for the CP225 w. The prices are not far off.

Or does anyone have any recommendations of other brands such as Canon, Brother or Samsung that are in the same price range.

I had the same decision to make and I purchased the cp225w.. so far so good.. the stock toners provided for the cp225w can print more pages than that of the cp115w.

P115w
The good

+ price. Ridiculously, stupidly low.

+ size. This thing sits on a desk. Good for a student.

+ speed. About 10 seconds from cold to print a b/w page.

+ quiet.

The bad

- print quality. Basic black text is borderline OK. But anything grey is printed with a dot-matrix dithered look. (Using the alleged "Fine" quality setting.) I wouldn't send any prints to a client.

- driver installation (on Mac OS X Mavericks). Tedious to go and find the drivers, flap around with them, restart machine, fix permissions.

- fairly short power cord.

- lightweight, somewhat rickety design.

- when the paper jams, which it will if you forget to flip down the top tray, then it really jams.

- there is no indicator light for data transfers.

The paper jam one take out everything, dust clean and put back. Toner, fuser, drum, etc. Sometimes got small bits of paper stuck somewhere or paper clip drop inside.

Go for CP225w.

CP115w $199 + $30 ntuc vouchers (Net value $169)
CP225w $269 + $30 ntuc vouchers + black toner worth $85 (net value $154)

For colour just stick with Fuji Xerox. You will never go wrong.

Dont bother repairing. A lot of oldie repair shop closed down already cause it is not worth it to repair with new printers costing same or cheaper than the repair cost.

Secondly is because brands are not selling spare parts out thus third party repair companies cannot flourish. They are forcing you to go to their authorised service centre and that is where they will jack up the prices.:s22::s22:

I'm having a recurring issue with Fuji Xerox M205 f printer.

I'm a light user and after 3-6 months of use, every page will have somewhat faint horizontal lines. The lines cannot be gotten rid of no matter what I try.

The Fuji Xerox serviceman's solution has always been to swap to a new (same model) printer, and this has happened 2 times already. So this is my third set and it also developed the same fault after ~3 months.

I'm really appalled by the reliability of this printer. Anyone else seeing similar issues?

Your printer near window? Seems like is drum problem

Hi guys,
I'm looking for:
1. Mono
2. Print only (Single function)
3. 100 pages/month (speed is not a factor)
4. As cheap as possible (<$100 if possible)
5. Wireless, auto-duplex, cheap replacement drums

Kind of shortlisted to Fuji Xerox P255dw and P265dw.
I am not sure why when i compare the specs, P255 seems better but older model?

Or any other recommendations?

Yes P255dw is the older model

With your requirement, seems like only FX P265dw is a good fit. Cause drum under warrranty for 3 years.

waaa You want to consider P225d instead? Atleast drum under warranty.

Challenger selling $99 , no wireless with have network (plug into yourrouter will become wireless already)
Have duplex.

If you still prefer P115w, you could buy from NTUC Xtra only. Cause is exclusive for them.

I have an old Fuji Xerox C1110 whose drum is dying... but I have a few spare colour toners cartridges around. I want to buy a new colour laser from Fuji Xerox with duplex and trade it the old printer and spare toners, any deals?

Just bought P225 and pretty happy with it. How much is the BW toner anyway ?

I would suggest that you get a color laser printer. Fast, no smudges. Downside is that the machine itself may be 300++, which is well over your budget. Ink printers may be cheap, but the cartridges are not.

Thanks for the reply. If let's say my budget allows 300++, what are the models available? So where can I get it cheapest. So far, I see Fuji Xerox M225Z ?

ps ah, no catalogue with me right now. I rmb-ed seeing brother and xerox printers having similar pricing. It's better for you to head down to stores like challenger/ courts/ harvey norman etc to see the promos. Don't just see the printer price itself, but ask for the cartridge prices, how many pages it can print. Do a simple price per page.
*can ask for free paper too* :D:D:D
