1 week after I factory resetted my phone. The sound issue not cropping out anymore.

But the phone still hang once though but I suspect that was because I left it on the wireless pad for far too long (overcharge?) :s13:

Are you clearing/killing your apps everytime? If you are, you don't need to do that anymore since kit kat.

Something new I learned.

Previously, I have to kill apps frequently to avoid the lags on my yesteryear Samsung phone.

Does this means that the new Android is able to optimise the apps on it own? That will be 1 of the reasons I may revert to android now.

One battery saving feature of Android 6 called "Doze" prevents apps from using Wifi/4G when it detects the phones display off/accelerometer no motion sensing after a certain period of time.

instant messaging apps like WA should be exempt from Doze so it's probably a bug with either WA or Samsung that has not yet been ironed out.

for those facing delays with WA messages, you can try Settings -> Battery -> Battery Usage -> More(top right corner now) -> Optimize Battery Usage -> All Apps -> uncheck WA

and see if this helps

VOLTE : I don't have this on my s7 edge but on my wife's unit (we have the same phones) she has.

Any specific settings to have it enabled ?

By default volte is enabled. Whether you turn on or off volte, there should be 2 bi-directional arrows at the top of your screen. If you dont have, likely your telco has disabled it.

Again, by default telcos provision it to everyone, unless u ownself go request to disable it at telco side..
