bought an Ideal Super Cut 1.56ct G VS1 from Amy at JannPaul..
first visit there.. but totally sold when i compare the quality and price against a same size lazare.. hope i got it right?

Hi,
i am very new to Diamond and was quoted the following for 2 diamonds.
Super Ideal Cut
0.78 F VVS2
$9500
Solasfera
0.78 D VS2
$9400
Seems like it's really quite a jump from the quotes that i see from other forumers.
Does VVS2 really command such a high price, is Solasfera worth the extras, are the price a bit high for a 0.78, which stone is more worth it and should i consider other stones?

.x7 .x8 .x9 are prime cuts, being a prime cut adds up additional value.
hate to spoil the market, but i think super ideal cut for $9400 is really expensive. Chop chop chop.

I believe after you have visited JP, you should be well educated and have adequate knowledge to source your own Super Ideal.
I would advise not to limit yourself to just one jeweller, give yourself more options by visiting more jewellers to compare the quality and price.
the 0.78 carat Solasfera seems like a better buy.
D color is great
Clarity need not go to VVS2..VS2 will appear same as VVS2.. so VS2 is great also
I will go for solasfera any time..
in this case with same price, solasfera look like a better buy.
i am wondering whether the spark of the solasfera worth the additional money spend? or should i get a bigger diamond instead with the same spec.

i thought a .9 is a prime cut cos it is nearer to 1.
.7 and .8 also consider prime cut?
What is consider a prime cut then?
Any others to recommend?
So glad i found this thread
i barely just started Part 1 of this thread but can give me a headstart and recommend some retail or private jeweler???
My budget is 10K...
if going for Tiffany....how much should i set aside???
TIA![]()
