Thanks! yea its the octagon in halo setting. I think if the main diamond is bigger the octagon setting will be more obvious.

Top left one is the Ideal Cut? There is really a different in terms of the shine between the top left vs the other 2. Make me think of my Octagon vs my old diamond

If I'm reading it correctly, there's quite a huge feather at the side of the diamond. This means that it'll be more prone to chipping or cracking over the years. Do take note of that and be more careful when wearing the ring

Yep noticed that feather as well. From what I can see it is not on the surface nor exactly near the girdle. But still have to be careful about it.

If I'm reading it correctly, there's quite a huge feather at the side of the diamond. This means that it'll be more prone to chipping or cracking over the years. Do take note of that and be more careful when wearing the ring

The inclusion diagram is a splitting image of the top half and bottom half of the diamond from left to right. The feather is cutting across the girdle and to the surface edge. This can be a durability risk. Just be extra careful when wearing the ring and avoid knocking the diamond.

Right one has substantial sparkles but still not as much as the bottom one. This one should be the Super ideal cut?
Left one one loses out to the other 2, so I take that as the Ideal cut.

Funny thing is the one of the left is of a very high specs! Its a D VVS1. But I guess the cut not so good so make the diamond appear overall darker. And her diamond ring actually cost more than ours.

May I know the size of the Solasfera as well? It really sparkles more than the rest. But i feel that the one I got for my FW doesn't sparkles as much. Not sure if i gotten a size that is too small for the Solasfera cut to perform.

Now she keep saying how sparkly her boss's diamond ring is.. I told her she must respect her boss.. cannot up her ring better than her boss

The boss's Solasfera is a 0.6ct. Color and clarity I don't know.
You bring your ring to JP to clean la. They give free ring cleaning and I always pass them my ring when I'm in town

Hi all. Will like some opinions on the Octagon and Brellia. I was shown 4 types of diamond cuts in JP.
Super ideal cut / Solasfera / Octagon / Brellia

I'm mainly deciding between the Octagon and Brellia.

From the front, I find the Brellia shape to be more cute and vintage looking. Makes the diamond look abit more... solid?

But at certain angles, can see the Octagon have more sparkles.. especially around the corner areas. Some parts is really like wow.. Didn't know diamonds can actually be this shiny..

Probably because of the 88 facets. I'm quite sold to the 88 facets and 8 hearts and arrows.. very auspicious diamond.. haha

They showed me the difference of a D and G color. To be honest, when I was there I could only see a slight difference. Somehow its abit more obvious in the photo. For me, I think F-G should be good enough. But if budget permits, I don't mind going for a higher color..

I know the Octagon stocks very little because 88 facets is harder to cut so in flow of stock is slower.. I like the Octagon but is not the exact spec I want.
Should I go with the Brellia or maintain Octagon? Jerome told me there is no new spec of Octagon as yet..I scared wait too long pass my dead line then I am dead myself

I like the Brellia too but my mind is fixated on the Octagon.. Hmmm. Any feedback which is better?

Its a 0.41 D VS2. Proportions isn't that good though.. The crown angle is very steep at 35.5 and the depth% is abit too long. The HCA score is 2.7

Did you see the diamond with the ASET scope?
