Hi, I'm very new into buying a diamond. This is my first time buying one.
I always thought that carat is the most important thing but I see many people talking about the Cut. Which one is more important?

Cut is the most important. And cut can also determine the price of the diamond drastically. How the diamond sparkles and its "performance" is only based on cut. Color, Clarity, Carat does not affect a diamond's performance.

How you prioritise the 4Cs will also depend on what your requirements are. For instance, are you able to sacrifice colour and clarity for a bigger carat? To me and many others, cut is the first priority.

I would prioritize Cut over Carat. Whats the point of getting a big diamond if it doesn't sparkle?

This would be a good example. 3 different diamond cuts and a big difference in how they look.

Agreed, Cut grade above all else then comes Carat.
My wife is still very much in love with the Cushion Brellia

Depending on what designs you'd be looking for, if you're looking at thicker bands you can take a look at Bvlgari.
Then there's also those 3 tone wedding bands from Cartier, or you can always do customization with a jeweller

I just visited Asta a week ago and i thought they are a private jeweller?

Anyway im considering buying proposal ring for my gf there. The price and service is quite good, what do you guys think? they are located at raffles place.

nice leh! showed my wife this design now she got considering this type also...
she commented that the bottom layer of diamonds below the head...not sure if this called halo... very special..seldom see this.. always see those with diamonds on bird eye's view only..

sorry for late reply. I will share once I collect the ring! Right now its work in progress. Glad to hear positive feedback. I was so not confident of this design though Casey did an excellent job rendering this according to my specs. Thanks for your comments!

just to share i bought a VS2 D grade triple excellent 0.46 Carat, hearts and arrows looked awesome . setting is modified tiffany setting in 18k white gold., i tapered the band to make the diamond look a little bigger. should be collecting soon.

total was $2600

They belong to Soo Kee. Lee Hwa belongs to Aspial Group, which only owns Citi Gems, Aspial, Lee Hwa, GoldHeart. Soo Kee owns Love and Co, Soo Kee, SK.
