The diamond i bought do have a laser imprint on the diamond itself. When i collect the ring, they will show me the imprint before i make the final payment to ensure that the diamond is the one i paid

Hey guys. I would like to get a sensing of market prices here.
I got quoted 4.5k for a E colour, vs1, O.63ct GIA cert with triple excellence its from Josi
Sounds like quite an OK deal right? Brilliant cut BTW. Thanks in advance!
Did you see the diamond under the other scopes? Cos Triple excellent doesn't guarantee a good diamond.
I mean in the airport le? When you claim GST then need to show the ring. How will they know the ring you show is the correct ring?![]()

MY friend used his mother ring to make the claim before
His parents was visiting and he just pass the receipt and gst form to his parents to help him claim, and the mother just show her own ring and just say this was the one bought.. Apparently it works... lol

Lol... very good idea.
Anyhow, spent my time at Soo Kee Orchard just noe for a good 1.5hour to know about the basic things in buying diamond. The salesperson shared about Brilliant Rose and Polaris Ice. Due to my GF prefers: not too big diamond, not too high claw, with small diamonds on the ring, I decided to focus on:
- 0.3-0.5ct
- color range G-I
- VS or VVS.
My questions are:
1. I know that Brilliant Rose is established brand (CMIIW). How about Polaris Ice? The salesperson told me that it has stopped producing.
2. What is the reasonable price for above specs? I was given these prices:
Brilliant Rose-0.3ct,F,VS1 costs $2,700 and Polaris Ice-0.32ct,H,VVS1,triple-exc costs $1500.
What do you think guys? Thanks in advance for your opinions.![]()

I shortlist these 2 rings from theses 2 store
Tiffany - 0.72carat, F color, VVS1 (side diamond total about 0.33 carats) = $15,500
Cartier - 0.70 carat, H color, VVS2 (side diamond carats unknown) = $14,000
Which 1 you think is a better buy, considering the brands and diamond spec?
Secondly, would you think is it worth to get a 0.86-0.88carat, either G or H color, VS1 or VS2 for a similar price of around $15k for the Tiffany ring... ( sacrificing the color and clarity to achieve about a 0.13-0.16 carat in diamond size )
Anyone here bought Tiffany engagement ring before?
Do you think it is safe to bring the ring to propose overseas (like to France and Italy), is it able to insure your jewel from theft from travel insurance? Or other kind of insurance.
Thanks.
1. The Brilliant rose is a modified round with 66 facets. It's also called the Leo diamond in other countries. If you're looking at the Brilliant Rose, you can try finding the Leo diamond, which is priced much cheaper in other countries.
The polaris Ice is more like a marketing concept.. The selling point is that its mined from Canada.. but there are other diamonds are mined from Canada too. And whether the diamond is from under the artic or dessert, makes no difference. What you want to focus more on is the Cut.
Btw, not all Polaris Ice are triple Exc.
2. IMO, both are overpriced for the quality. You can get a much better quality diamond at the same or even lower price else where. You're paying more for the branding in this case.
Thanks for the response. The Polaris Ice diamond showed to me was triple exc according to the GIA cert. Hope that this cert is reliable.
What would be the reasonable price for this spec: 0.32ct,H,VVS1,triple-exc?
For that amount of $$, you can easily get a 1ct diamond ring in a non-branded shop. Your paying about 200% more for the brand name. I've bought a 0.4 carat Tiffany ring before for $8.6k. For my upgrade diamond, I managed to get a Super Ideal 0.6 carat diamond somewhere else and nearly half of that price. Plus, my 0.6ct looked more brilliant.. and no one is going to know that is a Tiffany or Cartier ring unless you tell them.
If you're choice is only between those 2, I would avoid the 0.70ct one.
Hi,
I have been looking around a bit. I saw a 0.9ct round brilliant GIA, VS2, VG cut, EX polish and symmetry, no fluorscence, going for $54xx. Its a H color though. Is this worth a closer look?
I though of that also (paying 200% more, but the I compare those diamond and the setting in lee hwa, SK and gold heart, like not as nice as Tiffany one. If I were to custom made, they can't produce the ring exactly like Tiffany one (crafting of the design)
And for me, I am not so well verse in diamond knowledge.. Scare kena ripped off by those no brand jeweller.
Guys, would you take a 0.86carat diamond with about H color and VS2 is or a 0.72 carat with F color and VVS1 if the price is almost same? Or rather what will the girl like?
