Re: Decision decision..

If the upgrade would make you much happier, I think it'll be a worthy investment :s13: Also depends how much $400 means to you too... If it does not affect your lifestyle (Eg. need to eat rice and soya sauce for 1 week), then might as well go for it :s13:

Hahahaha! Yup it does not cripple our lifestyle cause both diamonds are within his budget hehe. My sis was telling me the same thing lest after buying, the devil surfaces and made me feel imbalanced about the differences despite the small differences.

You know, girls are fickle-minded hahaha :s13:

Your diamond setting...

Hello everybody! After reading thousands of threads in this line, it is my turn to seek for help. Here goes my first post.

After going to different retail stores (tiffany, leehwa, sookee, de beers, love and co.) I am now at JP. I found these two diamonds that are within the budget my boyfriend sets and now I have to pick between one for my ring.

Both are under super ideal cut and GIA certified.

Diamond one - $5,050
Carat weight: 0.61
Color grade: F
Clarity Grade: VVS2
Cut Grade: Excellent

Clarity Characteristics: Pinpoint, Cloud
Finish
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Fluorescence: None

61.6% Depth
57% Table
34.5 degree Crown Angle
40.8 degree Pavilion Angle

Light Return - Excellent
Fire - Excellent
Scintillation - Excellent
Spread - Very Good

HCA: 1.4

Diamond two - $4,650
Carat weight: 0.61
Color grade: G
Clarity Grade: VS1
Cut Grade: Excellent

Clarity Characteristics: Crystal, Needle, Pinpoint
Finish
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Fluorescence: None

61.3% Depth
56% Table
34.5 degree Crown Angle
40.8 degree Pavilion Angle

Light Return - Excellent
Fire - Excellent
Scintillation - Excellent
Spread - Very Good

HCA: 1.2

I know the differences are super minimal but..
The difference in price is $400. To take the F or G!?
Hope to hear from you guys! :)

Oh I have chosen the classic tiffany setting to go with.

Wow mine at vs2, F, super ideal 0.62, triple excellent $4900... Justified?!
Hi girl your setting from Tiffany is cheap! 18k white gold? Means no free service for your diamond at JP le?

My above price is only the price of the diamond without setting.

I did not mention how much is my setting in my previous post haha. The setting costs $600 for white gold, $900 for platinum. I picked the white gold cause maintenance fee is more cost effective as compared to platinum.

Hi girl..But u do not want JP service? So have u confirmed the diamond already? I think JP offer 18k white gold at $550, still cheaper ...

Oh no I did not ask about that part! :s22:I was too fascinated about the diamonds only hahaha. How much did you get for your setting and the service that you are talking about?

I was only quoted $600 for tiffany's knife edge band, in white gold. Did I miss out something?:s11:

I finally gotten the pics for my inital purchase but am so sad when i saw the spots so hopefully i can change to a diamond which is more to my liking? David was very nice as he told us that he can let us look for another diamond after mentioning my concerns to him. I actually do mind for the spots in the hearts, i tot it would be unlucky,I'm just very "pan dang" when comes to this because I treasure my love very much so I dont want anything bad to happen. So may any seniors here can comment if i should change? Haiz..should ask for the asets images and hearts and arrows images before purchase..Is this possible? I want to prevent from making mistake because I recommend JP to my guy and gave me the budget and I choose whatever I like and his budget kept getting higher so ended with getting a ring at 3.5K where he initially gave me like 1K? So I hope to choose the right diamond. Please HELP ME...Thanks
Here are the links but i can't post the direct as i'm a newbie :

Well I was quite particular too but den again I have two spots under hearts and arrows scope.. Try to overcome your barrier .. A good marriage will not depend on the two or few spots on the diamond ring...
If. You wan flawless and good carat.. Have to prepare for very big budget Liao..

For me my two spots under HNA.. But aft setting done with the diamond, no one can see from scope.. Take it as bury the hatchet lo haha...

Hahahahaha! You sure understand my pain! Yes! I wish I can upgrade the carat weight with that $400 but JP does not have any for me to upgrade. Maybe it is a sign of telling me not to be greedy, can only take up to 0.61 hehheh =:p

Yeah I guess I would not be able to tell too. Both are so bling but I have to make a decision soon, if not later someone else buys them away then I will stab myself:s22:

Already missed out a tiffany's so not wise to let this deal slip off..

 ARGH NO MATTER WAD DONT STAB URSELF!! =X

Uped the pic for you :)
IMHO, you will not be able to see the inclusions without any magnifications.. After wearing the ring a few months, you will probably see the dust on your diamond, rather than the inclusion =:p But if the inclusions bothers your heart, I think you should change... dilemma dilemma... haii... I gone through that stage before too.. lol

Wow...that's so nice of you!!! Thanks..so may you say what's your opinion for this? I mean I don't really want to waste David's time..so I was thinking if this is the best that I can have for the budget I will most likely stick with this...or maybe I can request him if he have anything which is in the range n send me n the aset, H&A then I will head down n see what I really like..like you guys say..it's definitely not visible to naked eyes..that's why when we saw thru the scope we tot ok..we will get this but when david send the images then we realise have spots..but he was super nice that he allow us to change la..since it's not to my liking..so your advise and other advises are very important to me..thanks

Personally, I think it is fine Physically, you won't see any difference. Whether you want to change or not, is a mental question.. It might be bothering you now because you're constantly looking at the picture that has the spots.. when you start wearing your diamond ring, you will be constantly looking at your diamond, and won't be able to see the spots. So it might mentally bother you less when you look at the actual diamond rather than the picture. Geddit? ;)

At the end of the day, the diamond is meant to make you happy. So you should make the decision based on which would also make you the happiest :)
If I'm not wrong, it's a Super Ideal Cut anyway.. So in terms of the bling bling, it'll be very bling bling already

Yes, it's a super ideal..david told me that he has a 0.43 colour e, vs1 to change for this..now waiting for him to send over the pics..but is it worth it? Gosh..super stressed..maybe I'm just too superstitious...do u still have ur images of ur diamond? I mean I can just "bluff" myself by using photoshop to delete the spots..haha..so ya..
