I bought the engagement ring for the gf from Michelle.
She was very patient with me when I went for my appointment even though I started at 6.30pm and ended well after closing hours.
After selecting the diamond and setting, I went home and over the weekend I pretended to show the gf a few rings. I purposely say "wah this one nice", pointing to the design I selected and she said "so ugly". I almost fainted and texted Michelle immediately that I want to change the setting, which she responded quickly.
I went down to JP again a few days later and selected a new setting (which my gf says it is nice) and Michelle attended to me patiently again. She also kept e updated on the progress of the ring while I was on overseas business trip.
The biggest WTF moment was after collecting the ring, my gf pointed out a design on JP's fb page and say "so nice" and it was not the one she said nice initially. When shown the one I changed to (which she said nice), she said "eeyer not nice".
I almost cried.

My first appointment was with Michelle last week & she had a bit of an attitude. Couldn't be bothered to explain anything about diamonds & was very unwilling to pull out the different shapes I requested to look at. She didn't really pay any attention to us & kept playing with her phone. Perhaps I look too young to be serious about getting a diamond + bf gave a very low budget of around 2k to see what we could get at that price. LOL
We just went for another appointment on Friday with Casey with no idea what shape I wanted, & he was super patient with me, going in & out of storage to bring out the different shapes & different sizes. I think he made at least six trips! Also, he was nice enough to pull out their latest stock to find a diamond with my ideal specs. IMO bring your gf to pick the diamond at least. I originally wanted only a .35 but it turned out that a .4-.6 gives me the finger coverage that looks good to me. Modest enough to wear proudly on a daily basis. For reference, my finger size is 14(asian sizing). Go asap if you are getting a Brellia cos their stock just came in & I already got mine. =D So happy with what I got~
If you are planning to buy without your gf, I would suggest erring on the side of larger. Not that bigger is truly better, but because girls can be brutal bitches. One of my friends got a .23 & her friends keep commenting that it's too small & cheap. It really bothered her because they think badly of her fiance. No matter what, they are still her friends. And even though you can always upgrade later on, there will only be one proposal ring.
IMO brellia is very elegant & royal. JP also has princess cut & angel cut. My white balance is also quite developed from all the photography I do so I start spotting yellow from F onwards (I know, my poor bf right? Hahaha!) Just enough to register as "not quite white".
