Hi guys, I downed for a cushion brellia 0.548c, E, VVS2. Should I opt for VS2 instead and up the carat to maximize $ for the same amount? Comparing E and F side by side I could definitely see that F is more yellowish at one glance, but dont think people will always compare diamonds side by side outside?

Will JP entertain our request to change diamonds even though we have down deposit?

Bro, how come yours is only ideal since ur HCA score is less than 1.5?

I'm guessing HCA score doesn't mean the cut? Since I entered the AGS info into the hca tool, it's only the proportions in % that they evaluate..

Anyone expert bros can advise?

Bro, you can youtube difference between super ideal and ideal. Apparently a super ideal would have more fire under the aset scope and has more defined hearts and arrow. scope.

HCA is a useful to strike off the poorly cut diamond. In a way, it does help to analyze the cut, like telling you with the table/depth % are good or not.
But it's only a basic tool to analyze a diamond cos it still have alot of factors it does not analyze. Example: minor facets, symmetry, etc.

This video might help :)
2 diamonds with low hca score but different performance

but your new request, do they have the exact diamond u want? i guess its a good trade off since vvs2 and vs2 looks the same to the naked eye,but bigger carat will be prominent and actually E and F not much of a visual difference, all still looks pretty white to me.. just imo..

"normal" you meant super ideal?

Putting both diamonds, side by side, which one appeals to you more?

Yup, true. But I guess naked eye can't really see that details. In the end I went for ideal only due to budget. :s22:

Yes super ideal
Hmm.. Solasfera brighter but bigger sometimes does means better and cheaper in this case.. And not sure if the price is deem reasonable

So i've finally had a chance to go and see actual diamonds at one of the jewellers, after reading so many pages and trying to understand all about the 4Cs involved in choosing a diamond.

Prior to my visit I'd informed the folks there that I would like to work within a budget of between 6 and 8K for the stone alone, and would like it to be eye clean.

My own conclusion is that looking at the stone with the naked eye I really couldn't tell the difference between say, a VS2 clarity versus a VVS1. Which is right, I suppose, in that these are supposed to be visible only under scopes.

In terms of sparkly-ness I also couldn't tell at all in a blind test which was which.

In terms of colour I couldn't tell between E and F, but could tell very faintly between D and F. The salesperson also, for comparison, showed me a really yellow diamond - i think it was beyond K - and this was immediately apparent.

In the end, two were shortlisted:

0.77 F VS2 at $7400, and 0.65 E VVS1 at $6350.

Both I understand to be Super Ideal cuts. I requested for the images of the GIA certs, but the salesperson omitted it in her email to me - I will be asking for them though.

But as a matter of curiousity, which would you go for?

When you compare both diamonds side by side, can you tell the difference in colour? I think clarity is subjective, though... but if given the choice, I'll pick the one with better colour and clarity... and find a size which fits into my budget...

Just what I think.

Cushion Brellia:

0.548, VVS2, E = $X
0.618, VS1, G = $X + $1K

Above are the shortlisted ones, any comments? I couldn't really see the difference in colour between E & G face up. Is it worth to top up to go for a bigger size?
