Thought about it before but I worry from far will look like SON, you know? Hahaha then my SO's comments is this kind look like school days kind of couples.. For now maybe you like but years down the road later you don't like then you don't wear liao.. So I suggested to combine the 2 letters and he seems OK with it since will be symmetrical by the heart :)

The diamond cost $6200 :)

Ya actually right my partner also asked previously y I never customise I think she looked around a lot. But I am not that Creative and I felt that maybe now she will like it but how about when is is 50 or 60 is she still going to wear it or like it.I felt that simplicity is the best and most lasting and won’t go wrong. After explaining to her she agreed. I would think if you want to customise do something subtle. So that the look of the ring is Long lasting and also for girls easier to match their clothes? Or nails? I think?😂

Here are my aset and H&A scope images for my ideal 0.72 E VS1 :)

Decided to also post the possible side view of my ring. Wanted our initials of S and N to be in that's why u see such designs. Like the 2nd one but SO feels that the S looks more like a tail hahaha.. Anyone with creative juice can help? :) Thanks!

This diamond is ideal cuz of 7, 9, 10 oclock arrow?

I prefer 2nd ring setting.

My bf brought me along to Jannpaul to choose the diamond of my choice.

We settled on the diamond w the following specs :
Super Ideal cut 0.52 ct VS1 G.

My finger size 44.5. According to the salesperson it’s very slim so it makes the 0.52 ct looks big 🤣

We got it at $4200 including settings. He made the deposit $500 alrdy but they didn’t let me know when are they gonna get it crafted. 😂

Not sure when is he gonna pop the q though 😫

Seems like prices have increased slightly since I got mine last month

sorry to hijack the thread if i may,

how do guys get the ring size of their girlfriend before making the ring and proposing? assuming it is meant to be a surprise and not shopping for the ring together, etc...

Hi, I'm a size 51.9 (0.5mm larger than yours). Actually I do think 0.6 is the average for this size, not to mention our size range is also the most common iirc.

You can refer to this website to see how a bigger diamond will look on your finger: https://www.diamdb.com/diamond/0.6ct-round/

Like you I also prefer something that looks more "substantial"... You can see how my 6.8mm width diamond (equivalent to 1.25ct) looks here on my finger: https://youtu.be/aYEV-4B46yQ

My diamond is grey though so I think a white one at the same size may look bigger 😊🤓 Budget wise though if this is the size you envision then it would be much more expensive than the 0.6ct.

Actually I feel designs by the side are subtle cuz people usually look from the top, not side, right? But I also kind of agree that maybe my ring has too much going on.. From milgrains to filigree to side diamonds hahaha.. But well, we only have 1 diamond / engagement ring so why not :p

Anyway no, rings are on their own, not made to matchy matchy.. If matchy matchy then one ring not enough! Hahahah

I think all the arrows on the left side not straight :) if you look at the H&A scope images, some arrows not even/relatively small. so yes, that's why it's ideal cut. The HCA score is 1.3. In terms of balance of red and green, I actually think is not bad.. Right? >< hahaha

Thanks for your thoughts! :D

Everyone's definition of size is different, for my partner, she's a size 46 and i still think 1.3CT look quite small on her :vijayadmin:
I believe the average diamond size in SG is 0.5 - 0.75, as for relatively to finger size....no idea...anyway size 50 finger aren't chubby la, it's already quite thin liao.

Bro I think it's not her, it's you :s13:

Anyway generally above 0.8 carat, I think people will remark that it looks big already

Think so, cuz i'm a diamond fan myself, i want big and bling. If only i'm rich enough to buy 3 CT without burning a hole :s13:

edit: i think also depends on your partner's environment, e.g. if shes in those banking finances sector where generally quite rich, usually their standard are 1 CT minimum.

Simulants usually can tell from the lack of contrast
