Whether the diamond is eye clean is one thing.. you also need to make sure it wont have durability problems. low clarity diamonds usually have structure risks problems of chipping from hard knocks. Once damage, the diamond is not salvageable anymore.
Color is depends on the sensitivity of your eyes. My own threshold is G color. I already find H color to be quite yellow. One trick I read is if you go for low color, you should set the diamond on a yellow gold ring. It wont make the diamond look too yellow

I feel that if you just want the size only, and the rest doesn't matter, you can consider those lab grown diamonds too. It will get you the size and will still look better than a very low color and clarity diamond.
