Man made cannot trade in! I think your income can get real one comfortably then stick with that can already. Super Ideal does look slightly bigger than its size.

I'm not sure if it's too pragmatic of me but if I'm the lady, I would appreciate getting heads up about the smaller size first before the actual proposal. Some ladies have very high anticipation for the proposal so if anything falls below expectations they might get a bit emotional about it, like the post we saw yesterday...

Lol
Now I scared really.
After reading the post.
I wonder really gt so serious not.
Omg.

Lol no la I bought real la but Juz wondering if so white look exactly like man made not🤦🏼*♀️🤦🏼*♀️
Y 1 diamond so dilemma.
When I was choosing also v dilemma so choose the best I can afford comfortably. Thought shud b ok.
But now I c velle I also start to worry

wa but that one can backfire also. imagine you give heads up alr then the partner says 'no i cannot accept anything less than XX. otherwise dont bother"
then how?!

i think it's about how the proposal/ delivery goes also... if you sincerely say next time buy bigger, now cannot afford etc, the pill easier to swallow. dont say stupid things like "cannot buy bigger cos too big for your finger". wa that one never die before (even if true)

True... wa but if partner say like that, definitely cannot proceed to propose le. I think your suggestion might work! Maybe the romance can soothe her but really really down to personality also. The poster yesterday, I believe she kept quiet cos she was trying to swallow and see from her partners pov but after a long while liao still haven't reached that stage yet.

yeah common practice, Ering is by husband, wedding bands are half half as she pays for your band, you pay for her band.

In western countries, if i'm not wrong, the banquet cost is paid by the female's family lol.

yup on the western culture, but their banquet is like our garden solemnization, buffet or home cooked food, so not as expensive as our chinese wedding....

yeah, told her since i choose your e ring, you choose the bands... money from joint since i know the guy's band is more expensive as it is heavier.. from one hr planned in jp to look at bands since we are resizing her e ring to spending half a day there.. :s13:

in the end we got our bands from jp/hoh even though we went to 5 other shops to look.. :)

Hihi, yup after 5 mins I got what you were asking about and edited my post le I've seen my friend's Orro (is stimulant though, not man made) and it's white but H&A not as striking as JP SI. IMO I can see a difference as colourless diamond is supposed to look 'clear' from the side profile but hers is white-white de...

The real 'lab grown diamond' is not common in SG so I haven't seen but cutting wise not guaranteed same level de. Your choice is good la don't worry

Mine’s a 0.52 ct SIC by Jannpaul. Paid fully by my partner. Initially I tried on the 0.7 ct but it looked too big on my finger even the salesperson said so. She also said 0.52 ct look better on my finger. 0.6 and 0.7 not much diff. Both look big also on my finger. My finger size is 44.5 (4.5). I’m happy w the size and cut and the bling bling. Hahaa. I never tot of asking for 1 ct cos it look way too big and not ideal for everyday wear. Most of all, I duwan to burnt my bf’s pocket. We still have our house, Reno and wedding etc. So many things to spend on. Not wise to spend too much on ering.

mine is a 0.8 and i’ve quite slim and long fingers (US size 3 with abit of allowance still) yet i feel it’s just nice. i wear it everyday and love it alot. guess ering is sth very subjective seeing from all the replies here :)

Btw, does anybody buy d colour?
Does it look fake now to think of it.
Even thou it’s the best but hmm.. will it look fake cuz too white?🤦🏻*♂️
Or can anybody justify a D for me?

Like if I get a man made diamond cfm wun b yellow Ma rte?
Mayb put side by side look same den how?

Never buy D colour... is an absolute waste of $$.. girls only care about carat size and how well it sparkles. 100% sure u cant tell the diff between D or G with naked eye (unless the cut of the G is super bad). Im sure ur SO rather you upgrade the size with the same amt of $$ or even just save on it..

Hi!

Does anyone knows roughly how much is the difference in a jump in colour and a jump in clarity?
Will carat size matters in the difference in cost? (eg. the bigger the carat, the higher the difference in cost?)

Thanks!

The higher the carat, the bigger the jump in prices. The brackets are at 1ct, 1.5ct, 2ct, 2.5ct etc although I also found that there's a premium for 0.1-0.2 carat weight just below each of those bracket.

And yes, Carat size matters A LOT to the pricing. The larger the carat, the higher the difference in prices for moving up/down the color and clarity.

So it depends on which bracket you are looking at

Huh so after the insistence to pay for the ering, he asked you to pay for the wedding bands yourself? Is this a common practice? I've never heard my friends doing this before... But going halfsies on the ering, it's quite common in western countries.

Yup lol well I suppose it's because "traditionally", e-rings are bought by the guys while we don't really hear of how couples pay for their wedding bands. So he decided it this way. but we haven't hunted for our wedding rings yet as our plan is to only Wed end 2020 and according to him, so much time because wedding ring easier to choose and doesn't take too long? Besides, I earn slightly more than him so that's why he's shameless la hahaha

I got my wife a 1.3ct, D, IF Amora Gem (essentially is moissanite, a.k.a silicon carbide). It blings like crazy and has more fire than diamond (moissanite has a higher refractive index than diamond). She gets a lot of stares.

If you or your wife travel in circles where ppl think e-ring die die must be diamond, and want to join the crowd, then maybe not for you.

I got another friend who proudly wears her ruby e-ring. Times are changing. Now there are circles of ppl who don’t compare who’s wedding bigger and more extravagant too. Opposite in fact, see who can hold the cheapest wedding.

It’s only a “fake” diamond if you try to pass it off as diamond. If you don’t, then it’s a real sapphire, or real moissanite, or etc.

Anyone has any comments on ballerine shaped rings?

This looks very nice on my gf's hands, she's simple, so she likes this too.

I've been to House of Hung and the local shops, but they heavily advised against ballerine curved designs as women during pregnancy will bloat and can't wear the ring anymore, so i'm confused!

any advises?

I got the loose stone from betterthandiamond.com and proposed using a temporary ring (jeweler’s spring prong claw holder)

Then we later went together to a local jeweler to fully customize the design of the e-ring to her liking and set the stone.

Betterthandiamond also has lab created diamonds, same as normal diamond except created in lab instead of dig from ground. But their main specialty is the Amora gem.
