Hi senpais,

Just received my GCAL cert for LG R10 diamond. I know the colour and clarity (D, VVS2) is considered good but as a first-time newbie, not sure how to process and evaluate all the other information on the cert.

Would appreciate any opinion (cant seem to post the full link cos of account limitations :))

Thanks in advance!
May I know how much were you quoted for this?

Hi all, what you guys think of this diamond? Any issues with it?

Appreciate your opinions. Thanks
@otto_1
wow ! Your decagon looks amazing, you managed to obtain the highest colour & clarity.
D/VVS1 from what I heard this two combination is extremely rare as they are the highest gradings possible, great specs!
GCAL is one of the strictest labs out there, I dont think you can find any GCAL lab grown diamonds anywhere in SG, they do charge quite high compared to igi one of the looser labs, so achieving a GCAL8x is really something!

Hi all shifus here, went down to JP today and they introduced me to this LG Round 10 diamond 0.83ct D VVS2. Would like to check if this diamond is good or should I wait for better diamond?

Comments would be greatly appreciated from anyone. Thanks!

Hi @claire018 , the diamond looks perfect, and the D colour is a added premium! Was this instock when you viewed it? You must be really lucky! Usually what GCAL (the certification) provides in an 8x grading involves a series of filtration in their grading and the certification looks more credible with all the images it provides.

Btw just curious, Did you received any scopes from JP as well?

Yes, this was in stock when we were there. Yup, the scopes were shared with us via email as well. Too bad no stock for Decagon if not we can compare the differences between R10 and Decagon.

Hi yall! I've been really busy & just got back from my business trip! Thank you everybody for all your input!! @freewilly5000 @Lydia.Tan I totally agree on how amazing this Octagon nova is & I really can't wait to wear it for my wedding! I have placed my deposit for a 1.01-1.09ct Lab Grown Nova, as they do not have instocks now so my preorder will be in a range. I'm really excited to see my final pendant.

I'm also going for a pair of 0.5ct+ Nova studs & I will share some pictures of the designs that my SA Sam shared too! Still contemplating on the 3 vs 4 prongs.

PS: The Nova has 137 amazing facets.

Do you mind sharing how much JP quoted for the 1.01-1.09 nova please? Thank you!

Had the pleasure of visiting JP on a rainy day to adjust me and the missus' wedding bands, the experience never fails to deliver even on the smallest of matters, just sitting on those round seats, took us back to where we first learnt about terms like ASET and SIC. As usual being nosey we asked to see their latest offerings, picked out their Cushion X as an early X-mas present(the wife appreciates the diamond but not the pun) , a little something different from the round cuts, but no less showing JP's excellence in all that they do:

Wishing all here good luck in your proposals and happy loots in 2024.

Hi shifus,

JP got back to me on this diamond. Can the expert shifu here provide any feedback for this diamond please.
Depth abit deep and girdle abit thick but is quite typical I guess of JP’s. Other than that it’s quite rare to get a D and IF! most of the time only can get D/E and VVS1

Thank you for your advice! guess I don’t need to be too concern about the depth and girdle then

Decided to add more meaning to my customised engagement ring by choosing the carat size same as my bf’s birth year lol. Was lucky enough to be offered a 0.93ct D IF Decagon.

FYI to those considering between R10 and Decagon like me:
- Main diff between R10 and Decagon is just the shape and Round will be slightly bigger (if same weight)
- Similar light performance so it’s up to individual preference.
- No price diff for both shapes (if same weight)

Comments would be greatly appreciated from anyone. Thanks!

Hi all, can anyone help to comment on this diamond? Bought a 0.6 carat as my gf did mention that she would prefer to wear an engagement ring daily, and 1 carat might be too big. If only the carat can be 0.621 then it will be perfect, as my gf birthday is on June 21.

Anyone tried getting from August Bespoke? Tried contacting Jann Paul via whatsapp and email but their replies are super duper slow.

I was asking for quotation for a ring I have in design from August Bespoke

Three stone with centre white diamond being 0.7~0.78ct, flanked by two smaller blue diamonds, rose gold pave band

Was quoted 8k+

Lab grown diamonds

Wanted to ask around whether this is the market rate price? Would appreciate if any shifu can shed some light

My acquaintance got from August Bespoke 1.9ct single diamond emerald cut E Colour, VS1 clarity, his was 7k

I do know that my design of the ring is a bit intricate and there a lot of diamonds on the pave band, maybe that’s why higher cost than his?
