The prices are probably gonna increase even more. US sanctions targeting russian diamonds heavily since last week, much less supply worldwide, look at that spike since russian saga.

just collected my decagon omg it's perfect! also very glad we got our wedding bands earlier before the engagement ring was ready, because folks at JP told us we would have to pay few hundred extra now for the same wedding bands we bought as prices went up. our wedding bands have diamonds in it.

Bought from fonder diamond. Online Web got pretty much diamond selection. Feels cheaper than those retail. Got a showroom at one north area if u need assistance. Last selected a 0.58 carat ard 2.6k exclude ring base ard 900+. Very much cheaper than those retail shops.

Congrats on your purchase! Fonder is a drop shipper just like the BN, JA, etc. So you might see the same diamonds they sell is also listed on bluenile, etc. which are going for slightly less. For the same spec, you can get a 0.6ct on BN.

Just note that Fonder's have their own definition of a ''super ideal cut''. I don't think it follows industry standard. Cos some of the none Triple Excellent or ''Very good'' graded diamonds are also being sold as their ''Super Ideal Cut''. I also see some of their SICs are listed to have brownish colors, fluorescence, etc. Just be abit more careful with those.

I don't think yours is a Super Ideal Cut based on the proportions being out of the ideal range and fluorescence, but most important is that you like it then can already.

thanks for the insight. yeah i think unless people are going for those 1 carat diamond.. maybe some flaws will be more obvious. mine 0.58 i guess still looks decent from the naked eye.

I think its not that much of the size but more about in comparison. I think most diamonds would look great or at least decent on its own, and also depends on the type of lighting you're seeing it under. It's only when you (or your partner ) start to compare it with others then that's where these differences becomes more apparent.




Btw, did you manage to see your diamond under direct sunlight? Because fluorescence have a risk for the diamond to turn milky when exposed to UV light.

You can try blue sapphires or better still a blue diamond. That will definitely be something different and can get in the white series cut. I saw that they have pinks too.

sic has 57 facets while the white series has 111.
think your regular 57 facets diamond with more 'supervised precision' - or that's how they like to put it.

Like Sotongster said, SIC is 57 facets.
Pretty much all round shape diamonds that you see everywhere are 57 facets. Then SIC is just to indicate the quality. Like SIC > Ideal Cut > Triple EXC. Though these labels are usually used very loosely as some shops are selling Triple EXC diamond as ''SIC''. So you need to do your own due diligence.
In a nutshell, SIC is meant to be the best cut precision standard that's possible for a 57 facets round.

White Series is JP's new cut that exceeds the realm of the SIC. It's like the upgraded version of the SIC as they found a new way to cut it better with higher light performance. It's not necessarily about the number of facets but the facet design/placement, proportions, etc. They have a few different cuts in white series and not all of them are 111 facets.
