Why you are going to Malacca via KL? Is it you are visiting KL and after that head to Malacca? If yes, you need not head to KL airport to take taxi or coach to Malacca, you can just take the taxi or coach in KL city.

If you are flying from Singapore to KL and transfer to Malacca, it will be a waste of time. Cos the journey from Singapore to Malacca is the same as the journey from KL to Malacca. Thus it won't make sense to go to Malacca from Singapore via flight to KL.

Driving from woodlands customs to Malacca is between 2hrs to 3.5hrs depending on the jam, traffic and speed you are driving. For us we don't usually speed and leave in the early morning - 2.5hours.

I'm going Malacca from Singapore. Got the wrong idea would be faster if take plane to KLIA then transfer bus than take bus straight from here. :o

Won't be driving. Guess will just book bus to there. Any idea will the bus stop halfway for a break?

Many coaches from SG call at Melaka hotels, so you might want to consider that instead of alighting at Melaka Sentral and having to make another transfer to your hotel. Rest stops also depend on coach companies.

Example, Luxury Coach stops for about 20 mins at Yong Peng for breakfast/toilet break, then heads to Melaka alighting passengers at hotels like Swiss Garden Hotel & Residences, Casa del Rio, Hatten, and Equatorial.

I think most bus will stop halfway for toilet break. Try taking those from travel agent where they will drop you at a hotel in Malacca Raya rather those public coach from Lavender which will drop you at Malacca bus terminal which is far from your hotel.

You must go for at least 3D2N. Go and enjoy the food. Must go Jonker street to enjoy the food, Jonker weekend nite market. The attractions are all nearby.

Do throw any questions which you are not sure. We will be glad to advise you.

Can try Aldy which is near Jonker walk or Pegola (can't remember spelling) near Raya melaka). Stayed there few years ago and personally prefer the latter.
