Hibernate if youre on ssd and have big ram, it'll kill your ssd faster. Just to note.

Not really significant in the grand scheme of things unless your "big ram" is as big as your SSD.

Wait, so having an SSD and having a big ram is a bad thing if you want to Hibernate?

Sleep does the same too actually if you're on Desktop. It saves the Windows state on BOTH the SSD and the RAM in case of power loss/laptop battery die, you can still resume from sleep from the SSD instead. So no difference to Hibernate.
...,

Nope, this amount of writing to the SSD is not going to wear out the SSD appreciably faster. It was an issue years ago when SSDs are tiny and expensive.

Sleep writes to RAM only. Hybrid sleep (has to be enabled in power settings) writes to both RAM and SSD.

Ah... Thanks for your great insight!

As a 'weird' person, I am up to date and aware of the changes that has happened to Microsoft where the senior employees were sacked and replaced with the new ones.

thats quite fked up on Microsoft.. though i am not sure what does that have anything to do with you

The senior ways meant even the oldest OS, Windows XP at least had years and years of support. So no matter, if you are on Windows Vista, 7 or 8, you'll still be supported. This one, 1803 only 1 year old already want to drop update you call acceptable? If they weren't so forceful and downright annoying to force the old Windows users to upgrade, I doubt they'd want Windows 10 to begin with. But do the users have a choice? It's either you upgrade or risk all sorts of intrusions. Whereas, the old guards have no problem patching your super old OS to make sure you are just as safe as a latest OS user.

you cannot keep living in the past. times have changed. IT security is being treated much more seriously. MS have to show the world they are doing their utmost best to keep their users secure and they chose this way, which is to push out 1903 and drop patching of 1803. whether you like it or not, thats how MS is doing it now. you have gotta move on.

Over the years, the new employees ones has shown nothing but their inability to push out stable updates. Every single increment, as someone has pointed out, always had some sort of problem and what makes matters worst, they delete your entire System Restore points every time they release a new version of Windows. Meaning, even if you go back to the old Windows version, whatever damage done to the settings cannot be restored with the Restore Points. (I didn't realize some people love to spend time troubleshooting and manually fixing their settings back in the 1-4 or so hours they have left after work instead of doing what they intended to do on the PC to begin with.)

so every new windows patch has problems? tell me something new. you talk as if every patch MS comes out your pc magically dies. you might as well do a fresh reformat then or stop using windows then. the IT world is flexible enough for you to get by on another operating system. oh by the way, if only you have upgraded your windows... you would now have the ability to pause updates up to 35 days which is something i like to do so i DO NOT have to update immediately in case some mega bug appears.

I am more amazed at how when it doesn't concern them, they brush off others problems as nothing but noise. It's a forum. It's meant for discussions. Not brush off the people completely. Come here and help give solution. But instead, what value did you add to this conversation?

i have actually given you a beautiful link on how to install a fresh windows 10 v1903 without the needing to upgrade through every windows version. what more you want? oh, as a bonus i just showed you that windows can pause updates now. besides, you were ranting not really asking for solutions so i am not sure what you looking for :s13:

This is not a game. This is a platform for work, studies, important tasks, videos and more. And if you accept BUGGY updates as acceptable like how you can accept your buggy games, then you are the problem. Because you allow them to release buggy updates one after another.

At least I've reported the bug that I've found to Windows. So they can fix it instead of just ignoring and not getting the problem fixed that affects other people and not just me.

of course it is not a game. i run mission critical systems on a daily basis and i do not like buggy updates more than you do. but i understand that security is so much more important than bug fixing. i kept up with times and work with what i have. and you should to. :)

of course not but you can't expect non tech savvy users to be using linux

Not expecting that, I don't leave my Windows systems naked to face public attacks directly. I don't allow websites to run scripts by default. I don't run dubious applications on my native Windows system either.

Because there are background processes that is running in the background by microsoft to do the auto restart for windows update. There are also microsoft services running by the operating systems to prompt you to update your windows and also to nag you to update. Don't like to deal with these nonsense use linux mint 19.2 lo.

Update overlaps the previous OS build so there bound to be issues.
If you want to install 1903, backup your data than install from fresh.
