Anyway, would M1 or Singtel having that after 6pm slow down kind of problem?

No such problem for ST and M1. May be weekend after 11 pm slower a bit but still v fast and can play game without lag.

Which Fibre Plan is better ?

Been using ADSL for like years and they refused to give free opennet terminal installation and contract ends on the 31May where they will start overcharging me as contract is over from $30+ to maybe $70++ according to their customer service where all 3 customer service officers provide me with different rates if i dont continue with the contract . So i was planning to sign up other service providers like Starhub/M1/MyRepublic . Just wondering which service provider's fibre broadband is more stable ? FYI i checked all 4 ISP's Facebook page and noticed all the 4 ISP also got people complaining about the fibre being slow or down. Quite interested in Starhub's fibre plan but came across a post about cable being faster than their fibre broadband . Is that true ?

OpenNet installation is free and when it is your turn to register just go online to register for your installation. Why u do not want to let them do the FOC installation? Even my 70 y.o. father go online to register for it. Once you missed it, you can sign those plan bundle with TP. Last IT show in Mar they offer 300Mbps with free TP installation. Even if you are overseas, u can sign up online.

Actually my situation is a bit special as i just move in and it happens that the previous owner is the person who doesnt care any of these matters . The surrounding neighborhood already have TP installation.

As I am not a heavy user, i decided to pay for the openet installation and sign up for the 200m @ $39.50

So far singtel is working fine for me. I did considered moving on to VQ but after seeing that there might be some "problems" with the opennet installation and such, I decided to stick with singtel for now

M1 300M do provide FOC TP and in Sitex 2013 ST 300Mbps do provide FOC TP. M1 has been doing fibre for 4 yrs and only a few days ago went down but a minor one so it is still quite stable. MR has the problem of less manpower and communication error causing delay to installation. MR do not provide free router and if router faulty must go back to manufacturer who is not working on weekend. MR do not work on weekend and PH. Performance vary from user to user and international speed may be same same as other isp 300Mbps plan. To avoid unnecessary delay, it will be better to go with a major isp who work on weekend & PH. Installation can be done on Sat or Sun which is very good and convenient. But their drawback will be their high price. Pay peanut get peanut. The world is Fair. $$$.

Any one switch to starhub cable? Hse not very suitable for fibre, as need to use wireless wifi to connect

Sorry for the typo error. I am referring to ST during Sitex 2013. For IT Show 2014 it is M1 300Mbps that is FOC TP.

1) 15mbps ADSL 2-yr contract at $29.90 (w/GST)

• 3 months free subscription (average = $26.16/mth)
• Free $10 rebate per month on fixed line for 1 year
• Free 1GB 7.2mbps mobile

or

2) 200mbps Fiber 2-yr contract at $49.90 (w/GST)

• 7 months free subscription (average = $35.34/mth)
• Waiver of $90 installation charge
• Must pay $53.50 registration fee
• Free $100 handset discount

I'm not a heavy user so 200mbps is an overkill for now. However, I'm not sure if 15mbps is sustainable in the next year.

Any advice?

I called their retention department to squeeze out their best offer. Otherwise, they will just give you 5 months free subscription for 200 mbps without waiver of installation and registration fees.

Different promotion at different time. Last Sitex 2013 is 7 mths waive but this time never heard any thing. Hope to see 7 mths or even 8 mths waive. More months waive the better.
