For Singtel, I think China Mobile servers seems to offer better speed.

Code:
root@debianct1:~# speedtest -s 4647

   Speedtest by Ookla

Server: China Mobile Group Zhejiang Co.,Ltd - Hangzhou (id = 4647)
        ISP: Singtel Fiber
Latency: 92.30 ms (4.68 ms jitter)
Download: 971.95 Mbps (data used: 1.6 GB )
Upload: 657.80 Mbps (data used: 1.1 GB )
Packet Loss: 0.0%
 Result URL: https://www.speedtest.net/result/c/ddb5e7cd-f794-435b-b227-71797f9f8915

China Telecom sites are usually not as good.

Code:
root@debianct1:~# speedtest -s 5396

   Speedtest by Ookla

Server: China Telecom JiangSu 5G - Suzhou (id = 5396)
        ISP: Singtel Fiber
Latency: 324.60 ms (0.08 ms jitter)
Download: 210.05 Mbps (data used: 258.3 MB )
Upload: 190.48 Mbps (data used: 315.2 MB )
Packet Loss: Not available.

That's a fair point. I chose the servers for location, not for ISP. That was the physical factor, since we cannot know the actual speeds to particular locations if they don't provide multiple test servers for us to test different ISPs.

Then there's the more important factor - we don't know what ISP the other party is on, and whether they have throttled speeds on their end too. We are testing servers opened to the world, but it may not represent customer experience, since access within China is greatly firewalled from the world.

If customers are on China Mobile themselves, they might enjoy better speeds. But what if they are on China Telecom?

With such good speed to china telecom/mobile, wechat video call is still unusable?
Then it seems to me it's either GFW or wechat liimting bandwidth to foreign ip.

It depends on the other side as well. I am just showing two good ones.

But the results to the two China telecom servers mentioned by Firesong are very bad (very slow upload) -- that will cause issues for Wechat Video call.

Hi Firesong, thanks for the instructions, but I think the file in OP was deleted by the website? So I modified the bat file to make it readable.
Only now that I know the 1Gbps plan was actually giving 10Mbps to other countries.

One way to get the working server id is to use VPN to go to a place, and then use the following website to get the servers nearby.

Example output after using AJS China VPN

Hi Firesong, thanks for the instructions, but I think the file in OP was deleted by the website? So I modified the bat file to make it readable.
Only now that I know the 1Gbps plan was actually giving 10Mbps to other countries.

The batch file is there and it should work.

BTW, your results to the two China Telecom servers are quite a bit better than mine. My results are very bad with lots of packet loss and sometimes I can not even finish the test for Server: China Telecom - Shanghai (id = 3633)

Code:
mcuee@mcuees-Mac-mini ookla % ./speedtest -s 27594

   Speedtest by Ookla

     Server: ChinaTelecom 5G - Guangzhou (id = 27594)
        ISP: Singtel Fiber
Latency: 194.84 ms (4.46 ms jitter)
Download: 6.84 Mbps (data used: 9.7 MB)
Upload: 0.61 Mbps (data used: 964.5 kB)
Packet Loss: 17.3%
 Result URL: https://www.speedtest.net/result/c/b297003d-5710-479a-9e82-80c3ba7f629e

   Speedtest by Ookla

Server: China Telecom - Shanghai (id = 3633)
        ISP: China Unicom
[error] Error: [61] Connection refused

The Windows batch file in the first post.

my test for Server: China Telecom - Shanghai (id = 3633) also failed.
It says
[error] Error: [0] Cannot open socket
[error] Latency test failed

The script in OP works, unfortunately speedtest cli couldn't output Mbps to csv.
Machine readable formats (csv, tsv, json, jsonl, json-pretty) use bytes as the unit of measure with max precision

From my tests to China SpeedTest servers from my SIngtel service, none of the China Telecom servers are good, all are pretty bad. The China Mobile and China Unicom are better. Yet China Telecom is the best broadband ISP in China, followed by China Unicom and then China Mobile.

Code:
1) Very good speed here:
root@OpenWrt:~# ./speedtest -s 13704

   Speedtest by Ookla

Server: China Unicom - Nanjing (id = 13704)
        ISP: Singtel Fiber
Latency: 68.62 ms (0.32 ms jitter)
Download: 397.80 Mbps (data used: 605.7 MB )
Upload: 731.71 Mbps (data used: 1.0 GB )
Packet Loss: 0.0%
 Result URL: https://www.speedtest.net/result/c/d2476a98-b655-4809-8210-5a

 root@OpenWrt:~# ./speedtest -s 4884

   Speedtest by Ookla

Server: China Unicom FuJian - Fuzhou (id = 4884)
        ISP: Singtel Fiber
Latency: 81.91 ms (0.16 ms jitter)
Download: 601.72 Mbps (data used: 1.0 GB )
Upload: 595.90 Mbps (data used: 1.0 GB )
Packet Loss: 0.0%
 Result URL: https://www.speedtest.net/result/c/7db87b91-cce1-487f-b195-35

2) Not as good as the above but pretty usable.

root@OpenWrt:~# ./speedtest -s 39012

   Speedtest by Ookla

Server: ChinaUnicom YunNan - KunMing (id = 39012)
        ISP: Singtel Fiber
Latency: 160.25 ms (2.98 ms jitter)
Download: 140.53 Mbps (data used: 180.8 MB )
Upload: 62.63 Mbps (data used: 91.0 MB )
Packet Loss: Not available.
 Result URL: https://www.speedtest.net/result/c/614b3932-639d-4316-ba43-d64efc19e150

3) Not very good but at least usable.

Code:
root@OpenWrt:~# ./speedtest -s 26850

   Speedtest by Ookla

     Server: China Mobile 5G - Wuxi (id = 26850)
        ISP: Singtel Fiber
Latency: 153.10 ms (6.46 ms jitter)
Download: 74.65 Mbps (data used: 104.2 MB )
Upload: 5.99 Mbps (data used: 10.3 MB )
Packet Loss: Not available.
 Result URL: https://www.speedtest.net/result/c/02cd2b5c-b509-4013-95ff-66

root@OpenWrt:~# ./speedtest -s 17320

   Speedtest by Ookla

Server: China Mobile JiangSu 5G - ZhenJiang (id = 17320)
        ISP: Singtel Fiber
Latency: 174.78 ms (6.71 ms jitter)
Download: 183.95 Mbps (data used: 261.9 MB )
Upload: 12.04 Mbps (data used: 20.4 MB )
Packet Loss: 0.7%
 Result URL: https://www.speedtest.net/result/c/5907a99a-f58a-4e21-982f-3451920223e4

4) Pretty bad results across China Telecom SpeedTest servers, almost all got slower speed and bad packets loss -- so that I do not want to post the results.

Thanks for that. Had not realised.

Have re-uploaded. Probably need a more permanent hosting solution.

Looks like Misaka has gone down, so I Switched to GLBB for a test to Japan.

Partial results only, a bit lazy to finish all the tests, from a Debian Linux LXC container inside an Intel J4105 PVE 7.1 installation (through an Asus RT-AX82U router).

My speed seems to be slower compared to Firesong's results.

Finally found an article discussing connection between China & SG.

MyRepublic

No wonder why I feel wechat call connection quite bad after switching to MyRepublic.
Probably need to consider Singtel for better connection to China.
