Recommend an AIO cooler!

Hi,

Am thinking of picking up an AIO cooler as an upgrade. For those who are using an AIO already, which brand would you recommend and how was the ease of install? What temps are you currently getting in our humid weather?

What's your budget?? If you are going for single radiator, you might as well buy a air cooler.

Around 200-250? Running a ryzen system and looking to reduce the temperature spikes cause the fans keep ramping up and down.

Corsair 280mm are ok. Running 2 units one on 1700 and one on 8700k.

For the Ryzen idle ~37C load <55C.

The Corsair H115i 280mm is really nice. And if there's an issue, it's a straight no questions asked replacement.

You should be looking at 1.3V for 5Ghz under high LLC.

If no budget limitation. NZXT has the best thermal due to their dense fins and thick water block and couple with Noctua fans, they are the king of the hills...

But their "famously" buggy CAM software can be the biggest shortfall... from my experience, it has stabilized over the past 6mnths...

If not OC or running i9/Ryzen9, it better to just Air cool with big heat sink, less headache with pump failures and leakage in the LONG term

I noticed my Gigabyte Aorus Liquid Cooler 360 sometimes does not function (CPU pump display is blank and fans are not spinning or lighting up) when I switch on my PC. Thought it was a one off but it happens more often that I thought. The workaround is to turn off the PSU power and leave it for a short while < 2 mins then power back on. Anyone else having this issue?

Have to be super careful and I would not want anyone else to touch my PC because of this as they may not notice this.

What hardware are you running?

My AIO is the Gigabyte Aorus liquid cooler 360 which does look amazing. Installation was not difficult but there are a fair amount of cables due to the fans and ARGB.

The good

1. Looks great and the LCD display is customisable (has 3 presets that you can play with. You can also load up your own custom images BUT can not display data - temp or speed if using custom images). Hope they improve on this over time.
2. My CPU (Ryzen 9 3950X idles between 50-60 (yes it fluctuates about 10 degrees)
3. While running games it does tend to run between 78-81 degrees. From what I'm told this is not too bad considering the specs.

The not so good

1. I'm having a slight issue that the AIO is not functioning when I power up the PC. This does not happen often but I've seen it a few times now and hope its only a software bug that can be ironed out.
2. A little noisy for my liking. May consider custom cooling in the coming months.
3. As everyone keeps on reminding me AIO's have additional parts and therefore more things that can go wrong (pump, radiator, fans & liquid). But you have to remember that these units are sealed and do not require maintenance. Well at least for the warranty period!

Summary

1. Am I happy? Yes as I do like the looks and performance I've been getting.
2. Will I make changes? May look into custom cooling but not for a few months (maybe 1/2 a year).
3. Will I swap it for an air cooler? No, don't feel the need to. I have a slight problem that I need to be aware of right now. Will update on the progress over the coming weeks months if there is a fix - so far from what I've searched online there isn't one. May need to RMA if I keep seeing this.

Do take note my airflow isn't the best as I'm using a Lian Li Razer case which has a tempered glass front panel but I do have air intake setup on the side and bottom (3 fans each).

Hope this gives some guidance when looking at AIO coolers

Am using the NZXT x63 280mm AIO cooler for cpu. Thermal wise, completely satisfied. Easy to install as well. Take note if you want to connect the fans to a single controller, you will need a splitter to connect to one. My friend told me the previous version x62 came with the nzxt controller and the current one did not. Thats a con.

Am actually considering another cooler from the same brand, x53. If buy, i can switch the x63 for my gpu and x53 for the cpu. Too bad the g12 bracket did not indicate 1070ti as compatible. :/

Any odd issues with the pump not working on the NZXT? Also how long have you been using it?

I do like the looks of the latest and greatest from NZXT (Kraken Z73) but the price is wowzers!

I just got it not long ago, about 3/4 weeks now. So far no issues, pump works the moment I boot the pc. Cam software comments from the internet was that it is buggy, but I haven’t had any issues. Supposed they improved it. Just that quite disappointed that they do not come with the NZXT controller which will allow me to control the fans from the software which means if I wanna change the fans rpm or set a custom curve, I have to do it via bios since it is connected to the mobo directly.

Yes, the z73 is a beast and damn nice. The pricing also very beautiful. Hahaha.

I keep my fans at a fixed percentage so that it is quiet. Anything below 50% is fine.

Nice temps,.. I have to wait till ** is over so that I can get my study area renovated. My biggest problem is that the side intake is blocked by the wall in this tiny area I'm having to work with. Not only that my monitor cant even sit flush against the wall as I don't have the space so I've got the monitor at a slight angle to avoid putting my PC on the floor!
