haha haven tried asking yet lol ...
not sure though ...
always go back the same places abit sian lol
cox going with diff ppl lol ...
so sometimes would skip some places, and try go new places
no lah lol .. doubt he rmb my name lol ... he so many passengers lol ...
think should be the norm ?
get quotation from few drivers, they quoted abt 3800ntd average ...

My first time to Taipei so every place also new to me.
normally he would bring u to ...
yeliu - see queen's head , attraction place (need admission ticket, abt 80 or 100ntd)
keelung - eat food ... he would recommend u to eat the healthy sandwich 55ntd, is basically like subway, put vege inside the bread
but the bread is deep fried, so is not very healthy ... but taste is not bad
jiufen - walk old street
shifen - put sky lantern
nanya, yingyanghai - expressway area to take images ...
we also told him to bring us to shifen waterfall, toufu street, cat village, jinguangshi on different occasions ... ... depending where u wanna go , can let him know
I took from xmd to airport was 750 in 2013 and 800 last year for 2 pax
private car ...
u go tripadvisor and managed to find good and cheap and reliable driver?
tats what i did for my thailand airport transfer and land tour ....

Yea, I told him will adjust accordingly on the day itself. Most likely will skip yeliu and the shifen waterfall. People recommend not putting Keelung as last stop but if want to go Keelung for dinner, then that's the only option right?

Just back frm TW last mth. Want to recommend this Volkswagen 9 seater van (incl. driver). Actually get him thru another yellow cab driver, which I found out that van is far more comfortable than 7 seater yellow cab especially the legs room. We have alot of luggage so the last row is basically occupied by our luggage. Make us left 5 seats which is just nice for 5 person.
What I have learned is can't just looking at the price. Must ask how old is the van, whether it is a authorize travel company (impt as they will help u buy local insurance). We are travel around half of the TW, frm taipei -> tai chong -> hua lian -> yilan -> Taipei. So alot of time you may need to travel in the car. comfortable car is very impt.
You need to tell the driver what place you want to go and he will help you plan accordingly. example because we travel with kids so we want to include some DIY activities for kids(which is very famous in TW). Some DIY need advance booking. I booked my own accommodation as I have my own expectation. But actually the driver can help as well.
shifen other than waterfall actually can put the "sky lantern" which I find very fun. we tried to take their old type of train at shifen as well as the kids never took that type of train before. You can let the driver plan for you then adjust frm there.

Yilan Driver
Our family of 4 took the recommendation of another forumer and engaged 大介 for our 2d1n trip to YILAN and were glad with our choice!
We have been to Taiwan numerous times and hired drivers across Taipei, Hualien, Cingjing and Kaohsiung but he is one of the better ones and reasonably priced. He is based in Yilan and hence would be most cost effective if you hire him at Yilan locally (NT3000 for 8h) but you can always discuss with him if you need him to go other places.
He had been helpful since we query him on FB msg. We were not able to get the train tickets the night before as its fully booked and were glad we asked him as he suggested alternatives of taking the bus which is cheaper and takes the same travelling time. He also went the extra mile to help us call up farms as we wanted to do fruit picking, and was always mindful to rearrange our itinerary so that things to be done before the day gets dark could be pushed forward if we spent too much time at an earlier itinerary. He was also nice to always hold our doors for us whenever we board and alight.
He is also very patient as on the 2nd day we initially told him to meet at 10am but wanted to change to 9am. He initially told us he wasnt in time so we went back to sleep. However he had rushed down and reached at 915am but we didnt see his message and only went down at 10am. He still greated us happily and didnt seem upset at all that he waited for 45mins. He is also quite flexible and willing to extend the hours for u if he is available, and might even waive off extra charges if he wasnt over by too much.
All in all, nice guy who knows Yilan well and really helpful with many things. Recommended to contact him if u are heading to Yilan!
