[Recommend] Good Mechanical Keyboard

Hi,
Spent the last week researching on a 65% keyboard and have narrowed it down to a Ducky one 2 SF vs Vortex Cypher 65.

Any recommendations on which is better? Planning to get from Lazada (Xtreme Solutions).

Likes:
Vortex: End Key, 4 keys on top of arrows, normal right shift key for easy change of keycaps in the future, steel plate backed?

Ducky: keycaps seems to be better quality, more common = more parts?, like this thinner bezel design, multiple angle adjustments


One additional question is i see on Vortex's website their Cypher comes with black keys while the one on Lazada has coloured? are they 2 different keyboards or am i missing something here?

Wish i can go down SLS to check the boards out physically but alas Xtreme is not open yet...

Currently using logitech G413, waste of money with persistence double typing issue.

Did you try the fix for key chattering?
Common issue for mechanical keyboard.

Anyway my Corsair K95 XT arrived. Install iCue, it went dead. Google solution fixed it. Damn corsair. 6 months cannot even fix it.

Cherry Mx Blue? My first mechanical keyboard. Freaking annoying. Keep clicking sound as I type. Like those "noisy" vroom vroom cars. Want the whole world to know that there is a car.

Logitech G Hub software sucks. Using a G910 keyboard. Fixed it's key chattering issue, thanks to a forum member. But gonna swap it out. New corsair incoming.

Ignore the audio though. Unsure why they set all audio so damn loud.
I am using Silver but there is no sound or bare minimum unless I bottomed out the keys which I do 100% of the time. Really fast and smooth.

Hahaha my bad. MyPC volume was at 20%, Youtube at 20%. It was loud.
That's why the click so goddamn audible.

dang it should have went for the silent red or silent black, lol kinda got scammed by the staff at challenger to purchase a cherry mx blue kb. He told me the noise wasnt that loud

feel like normal linear, but will be "cushioned" when bottoming out. the feel will be dependent on the switch you go for. imo silent reds aren't very mushy.

what does it mean by linear ?

clicky = mechanism to make a clicky sound when the key is registered
tactile = you feel a bump when the key is registered
linear = you don't feel anything when the key is registered, goes straight down till you bottom out.

if you can afford 150-200 and looking for pre-built, definitely go for leopold, varmilo, ducky, filco. my preference is in that order but all four brands are excellent for pre-built boards.

if you want more customisation, (perhaps using more exotic switch options like novelkeys creams) - drop alt, gmmk and keychron are decent hotswap options . but this will likely cost 300-400 including switches and keycaps.

Ducky website is a PITA to use but seems to be the closest fit. Their indicator lights seem to have same problem as the Phantom but they have another row of keys above that which might provide enough reflection to tell what is on/off.

Apart from these established brands, any experience with China brands? Doing a quick search on Taobao, I see that they have waterproof mechanical keyboards which piqued my interest since having a toddler around the house means inevitable disaster potential

You can consider Durgod too, pretty decent if you don't mind floating key design and more gamey look. They do have versions with just the backlight or even RGB ones. Alot more software customization of the keys too.

There isn't the best of all world, have to choose between quality, all those fancy features and arcade RGB.

I recommend Corsair K68... it is at least partially water resistant or proof depends on how you see it... because I gone through some mechanical keyboards.. my last Black Keys one from Steel Series malfunctioned due to water spill.. some keys not working.. then I go thru some China one bought from Taobao... either I cannot get used to the design.. or again I spilled some liquid on it.. causing it to malfunction again... or some are not N-key rollover... some are really damn bad that causes problem when you are playing a typical FPS games... yeah that bad.. but it was cheap...

But if you dun ever drink near your keyboard... or have any kind of liquid near it.. then forget what I say.

Again.. there is this keyboard I buy from Taobao which say water resistant... but not really... sometimes I think they dunno what they are saying... unless you look closely at their design.... Corsair K68 has a good design.. and if the China side copy Corsair K68 design.. then yeah could be a water resistant design.
