[Recommend] Good Mechanical Keyboard

Its really for the keyboard enthusiast.
Personally, I can understand the cost for the switches but am bewildered that just a cable connection, which is term "coiled aviator keyboard cable", aviator?!, would cost that much. Keycaps pricing is another crazy culprit.

It is the same for high end audiophiles.... If it is analog I can understand, but digital?

Haha. Actually am even less familiar with that field. All I know is,I am still puzzled by why an amp is required when using headphones

Coz there's detail that it can pick up with amp. Without amp, it's just lifeless cans.

U pairing with PC or laptop? I'm using for my laptop and no drops so far (touch wood). Quite near to it as well. If PC, there was another user who changed another dongle though, a few pages behind.

Hi peeps, may I have your advice on the following matter:

I bought a Ducky One 2 keyboard from the authorised dealer in SG last June, which comes with a 1 year warranty. Yesterday, I used a damp cloth to wipe the keycaps off the dirt accumulated and the keycap for the letter "G" came off easily without much force! I tried to fix another letter to the "G" key switch and it doesn't come off that easy. I tried to insert the keycap "G" to another letter's switch and it came off as easy as well. I think it is reasonable to come to the conclusion that the "g" keycap's "catch" at the bottom is loose.

I called the authorised dealer and was told that the warranty covers parts like faulty switches but not wear and tear (such as loose keycap). However, I can bring down the keyboard and let them have a look.

My queries are:
1) Anyone has similar experience before?
2) Isn't the above-mentioned considered to be manufacture defect? I mean, the crux of the problem is that the keycap is loose. I didn't check all the keycaps upon purchase, but I don't think anyone would try to pull out all the keycaps to check if they are secured upon purchase of the keyboard, right?

Yes, one negative thing about this keyboard is that there's no low battery light indicator. Even my aging Filco has a dedicated LED light for it.

Never heard about this but no harm in taking a video for your distributor or perhaps straight to Ducky to check. A bit hard to visualize the defect in words.

Thanks bro for your advice. Yea definitely taking it down. I was kinda disappointed. I really like the quality of the keyboard and have always recommended it to the people here

Actually, there is a function to check battery life. Fn and B will display on the keyboard if u r using Window, Green for up to 70%, blue 30 or 40%, red is u know la, need to start charging leow. If u r on iOS, there is a battery indicator in iOS itself supposedly. I'm on Win btw.

Cant comment on the mechanical switch, but it does seem like the palm rest is not necessary for the slim profile ones, unlike the normal boards.

My only concern is how fragile (or wobbly?) the keycaps are. Switches more or less are up to expectations.

kinda feel like mech keyboard got high chance key switches will malfunction - double tap/not responding etc. just bought 1 and it was cranky after few months.

my membrane old keyboard lasted 10years+ still going strong

If you have the budget, go for a hot swap PCB keyboard
Can just swap out the individual switch/key cap
